3. Good
Effects
When a child plays video games, it
gives the brain a workout. In many
video games the skills that require to
win involve higher level thinking.
These skills are not even taught in
school. Some of the mental skills
enhanced by video games include:
Following Instructions, Problem
Solving, Hand-Eye Coordination,
Planning, Multitasking.
Many
psychologists
have found
benefits from
video games
4. Bad
Effects
To parents video games are known as
time wasters, and some educated
experts think that these games corrupt
the brain. Playing violent games are to
blame for young people becoming violent
or commit extreme anti-social behavior.
Children who play more violent games are more likely to have
increased aggressive thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Games
can confuse fantasy and reality.
Violent video games can cause social isolation, teaches wrong
values, poor academic performance, effects on health.
5. What I Think
I do not believe either.
I believe that it matters how your brain works and handles it. I do not think
someone should sit there for days on end in front of a TV playing a game. Also,
someone who plays video games and cannot differ reality from fiction should not
be playing violent games.
BUT
Games that do help work the mind, or even violent games. The people that play
these games but actually still are involved in life and are not addicted to a screen.
