This project initiated in 2002 in Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa aimed to address water wells, livelihoods, and local empowerment by providing each family with their own well while also installing community wells. Locally sourced materials and labor were used to manually drill wells and develop vegetable tunnel farming, aquaponics, beekeeping, citrus farming and forestry. The outcomes have included improved family health, food security, local economic empowerment through businesses and jobs for beneficiaries, and environmental development.
