JP Customs Clearance info (IB/OB)
Japan and South Korea have a Status Of Forces Agreement in place that covers the import and export
of Official US Government shipments.
Japan
DD-380EJ & DD-381EJ – for official US Government shipments
These forms are controlled by the TMO/DMO/DLA/Supply/Contracting offices and can only be filled out by an
authorized traffic management officer who’s signature/stamp is registered with the Japan Customs office.
These forms can also be authorized for US Gov persons’ personal effects during a PSC move into or out of Japan.
This would also include vehicles.
These forms can only be issued in Japan upon entry or before shipping out of Japan. The signature /stamp on the
form must be registered with Japan customs.
380EJ form: Used to clear JP customs as military cargo without duties/taxes and without physical inspection
381EJ form: This form is submitted by a private company that has a contract with military and is authorized D/T free in
their contract.

KR Customs Clearance info (IB/OB)
Japan and South Korea have a Status Of Forces Agreement in place that covers the import and export of
Official US Government shipments.
South Korea
Government Bill of Lading is required to be sent with the shipment ( copies are ok )
95EK must be submitted by the C’nee, in the case that the GBL copy is not with the shipment.
If the shipment is shipped with the GBL (Government Bill of Lading must be imaged along with the AWB/CI)
Customs clearance can be completed within 12 hours, delivery the next business day.
In the case of Non-GBL submission, ( CBL’s are not the same as GBL’s )
A valid Point of contact and Contact number for the C’nee is mandatory.
(It can take 1-2 days but if the consignee isn’t registered with KR customs or the Consignee is late faxing the
signed 95EK form, additional delay could occur)
The signature on the 95EK must be registered with the S.Korean customs office.
