2. Confidentiality All manner private of private or personal information must be kept confidential Only those workers that have a valid need to view information should do so HIPAA regulations require all healthcare information be kept private (Seitz, 2010)
3. Violations Violations will lead to disciplinary action These actions could include written warnings or even termination Violators will also be subject to federal punishment including large fines (Seitz, 2010)
4. Team Players Be a team player: remind your co-workers of privacy expectations! If you discover a violation immediately report it to your immediate supervisor. Even if you did not commit the actual violation you may be held responsible if you do nothing about it!
5. Responsibility Be responsible! Ask yourself if you are in the right place to be discussing a patient’s information! Be responsible! Ask yourself if you are discussing a patient’s information with the right people! Be Responsible! Ask yourself if YOU should be looking at a patient’s information!
6. Policy and Procedures Through this quarterly training the company’s confidentiality policy has been made clear. Violations will not be tolerated. If you have any questions please ask your human resource representative for clarification.
