2. About me
I am a senior at SUNY New Paltz studying as an English major. I
previously attended Goucher College in Baltimore, MD, and was
studying to be a special educator which is still a profession I am
pursuing. I transferred here in the spring 2014 semester and I am
liking New Paltz so far.
I chose to be an English major to further explore my interest in
literature and to strengthen my writing, a skill I have always
enjoyed. I enjoy writing creative non-fiction, my interactions
with truly beautiful people as well as my own experiences
inspires me.
3. Literature
• I enjoy reading fiction novels and short stories
primarily. Some of my favorite writers are J.D
Salinger, Earnest Hemmingway.
4. Earnest Hemmingway,
• Earnest Hemmingway, is one of my favorite writers. His symbolic language
intrigues me, some of my favorite books are, “The Old Man and the Sea,”
“The Sun also Rises” and “For Whom the Bell Tolls”
5. J.D Salinger
• J.D Salinger has been one of my favorite writers since High School, when I
was required to read “Catcher in the Rye.” His creation of the Glass family,
in his writing has always interested me which led me to learn more about
him as a person. His failures in his early career and his perseverance which
led to his accomplishments constantly inspires me.
