ideology and tactical operations of Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. Work to identify incidents of
expansion of IS southward from Egypt, Libya, Tunisia and Algeria.

Studied the location, agendas, and activities of groups such as Al Gama A Islamiyya, Al-Aqsa
Martyrs Brigade, Al Qaeda, and the Armed Islamic Group of Algeria; worked to prevent
terrorists from entering the United States by detecting altered passports / fraudulent entry
visas at JFK Airport in New York. Examined agricultural imports for the presence of biological /
chemical agents [Anthrax, Ricin, Sarin gas]; investigated origin of agricultural imports into the
United States. Helped unveil potential threats to U.S. Agriculture industry.
Regulated agricultural imports according to Titles 7 and 9 of the US Code of Federal
Regulations; helped to determine tariff rates for undeclared foreign imports; intercepted
counterfeit designer bags and clothing arriving from East Asia. Intercepted dozens of
potentially invasive foreign insect species at NY Port of Entry; confiscated endangered Black
Caimans smuggled from South America in collaboration with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
