How can Notts Sport Help?
Unique offer provided by Notts Sport to
customers in the UK
A method of putting in place funding for
synthetic sports facilities such as synthetic
pitches and Multi Use Games Areas
(MUGAs)
Originally developed to offer solutions for
customers with existing facilities in need of
refurbishment
Notts Sport are able to arrange the funding
of the project against which the customer
pays the funding amount over a 5 or 7
year period
Can be used to cover entire project cost or
to top up existing funding or budgets
What is Fast Track
Funding?
Designed specifically for State Schools,
Local Authority customers and
Independent Schools
Also available, subject to approval, for
private, commercial and other customer
sectors subject to stringent checks
We are working with established funding
partners, Unilink Ltd, experienced in local
authority and education sectors
Arranged via an operating lease format
which has been passed by the EFA and
auditors as a true operating lease
The first project at Whitefields Academy
(London) has been completed whilst others
are in construction and tender stages.
What is Fast Track
Funding?
Fixed rates for entire funding period via
operating lease agreement rather than
financing or loans
Independent customers have greater
flexibility and can use finance leases or
loans
Customers can take up an option to own
facility at the end of the funding period
Flexible terms including topping up
existing funding pots and monies
Can be paid to suit individual
requirements
Funding can be repaid over either a
standard 5 or 7 year funding period
What is Fast Track
Funding?
The completed synthetic sports pitch can
generate an income via external lettings
Contributes or even offsets the cost of
the funding
Approval process is extremely fast for the
local authority and education sectors so
there are no lengthy application processes
to third parties
Agreement paperwork has now been used
& approved by EFA
Notts Sport work at risk to secure all
necessary consents AND put in place the
funding
Notts Sport can design the facility to your
specific needs

WHAT INCOME CAN A
SYNTHETIC PITCH
GENERATE?
The levels that can be charged varies
across the UK with metropolitan/urban
areas charging as much as £90 per hour
In other areas of the UK then costs can be
as little as £30 per hour for a full size pitch
Cross pitches are most commonly let and
due to the range of hire rates this also
varies across the UK
Typically £30-£40 per hour but as
little as £15 per hour in parts of the
UK
It is important to maximise bookings
throughout the year
Summer Camps
Non Traditional Sports
Example Synthetic
Pitch Income
Determining the demand for the local area is
critical and customers are advised to speak to
other facility operators and NGB’s to ascertain
rates and clubs looking for pitches
EXAMPLE HOCKEY PITCH LETTINGS:
Monday – Thursday
£30 per cross field pitch (3no.)
2 hours per night (average)
£720 per week
£70 per full pitch (1no.)
3 times per week (Tues-Thurs)
£210 per week
Weekends
£90 per match
4 matches per weekend
£360 per weekend
TOTAL INCOME = £1,290 per week (44 wks)
TOTAL INCOME = £56,760 per annum

Notts Sport will offer initial appraisals of
anticipated income generation, usually
based on 44 weeks of lettings per year
Different surfaces can generate greater
income with 3G (football) pitches usually
being the biggest income generator
followed by high quality sand dressed
hockey grasses
It is critical to establish what
teams/demand there is in the local area
before choosing your surface if income
generation is key to the feasibility of the
scheme
Good practice is to host open days to
establish demand within the local area and
have Clubs fill out booking sheets based on
anticipated requirements
