2. Overview
Our film is based on Adam Field, a 24 year old male struggling with visions of a mental disorder. Eventually, he
goes to psychiatrist for help, says his symptoms are normal of a schizophrenic but Patrick is convinced it's
something worse. The teaser revolves around different sessions with flashbacks till the ultimate climax of
finding the physiatrist dead. We also had the idea where the same person is haunted by visions of a strange
figure that tries to influence Patrick to attempt evil things, crimes and even murder; this idea could also lead
onto the ending where the physiatrist is (spoilers….) killed by the patient himself.
3. Film Poster
Due to the fact that this idea has been involved in other horror films like Dr Jekyll &
Mr Hyde, Dorian Gray, Me Myself and Irene and fight club. We want to use the split
character disorder to include in the poster the main character with both personalities
showing both the troubled and sane side of Patrick.
Other Ideas:
● Tagline
● Release Date
● Actors name
● Credits
● Website
● Social Media Icons
4. Target Audience
To find a suitable target audience, our group did some research on other films that are
similar in terms of genre or story. For our film, we thought Shutter Island was most
relatable to our own overview of the film. Our film would be skewed towards a male
audience and be more suitable for late teens or slightly older patrons.
5. Unique selling point
Due to the fact that thriller films are commonly produced, our thriller needs to have a unique feature in order
to differentiate it from the other thriller films within the competitive industry. Therefore we have decided to
include themes of mental illness as one of the main sources of character and horror.
As a group, we are aware of those who are affected with mental illness. This film / trailer will not stereotype or
categorize an entire group of people and associate negative traits. No specific mental illness will be mentioned
or attached to the main character.
6. Marketing
There is a number of ways which we could market the film. Social media would be one platform we would promote it on
(Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc.). Some forms of physical media will also be created such as posters, flyers, banners and even
paper advertisements.
Due to the past 10 - 15 years, promotional media has taken off in the digital area. A good example to mention and possible to
obtain more influence from is the original ‘Blair Witch Project’. This low budget film took advantage of digital media in its early
days, a fake website and missing people images to create realism and buzz with its audience.
