Oriented Paradigm in Comparison with the Procedural Paradigm. PhD thesis, University of the
Witwatersrand, December 1992. The PhD was the result of a conversion from an MSc I had also
edited, on the adaptation of the numerical electromagnetics code in order to enable it to run on a
network of transputers. It was as a result of the work undertaken on this thesis that I ended up working
within the Electrical Engineering Department.

Edited two PhD dissertations and five MSc theses in the Department, as well as at least 15 journal
papers, and various technical reports. A fuller list of all publications is available, on request. Only the
PhD titles are given, as an example
Presentations
Presented at least three lectures to students of Engineering at Wits on How to Write a Thesis during
1993 and 1994, including an open lecture which was well attended by about 120 students and lecturers
from all the scientific faculties.
Lecturing
Engineer in Society, 1994. Tutored the course entitled “Engineer in Society”, a required credit for third
year students in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Wits.
