Let’s look at it again!
23. The Heart:
What it does
• The heart is a pump.
• It pushes blood to
our lungs and to our
bodies with each and
every heart beat
• This is system is
called cardiovascular
circulation.
24. The Heart:
How Cardiovascular Circulation Works
• The right side - pushes
blood to our lungs.
• The left side - pushes
blood to our bodies.
25. The Heart:
Cardiovascular Circulation
• When we breath in air, we
breath in “oxygen.”
• The right side of the heart
pumps blood to the lungs to
“pick up oxygen”
• The “RED” blood with oxygen
returns to the left heart, which
pumps oxygen-rich blood to our
bodies for delivery!
• Our bodies use the oxygen in
our blood (turning it “BLUE”),
and send the blood back to the
right side of the heart to be
circulated to the lungs once
again.
