                                                                                                                                                                                                                       The design proposal for ART lamoen (Strandveien 27) incorporates a
                                                                                                                                                                                                                       number of sustainable concepts.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                       The building is orientated towards the sun, with terraces on the south
                                                                                                                                                                                                                       side of the volume.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                       The main construction consists of wood and concrete. From the ground
                                                                                                                                                                                                                       floor and up the construction material is almost entirely wood.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                       The facade is covered with wooden slats mounted horizontally. These
                                                                                                                                                                                                                       do not only serves as decorative cladding but also as sun is shades.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Where there are windows the facade opens via wooden folding
                                                                                                                                                                                                                       louvers.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                       The building is ventilated with natural fresh air that enters the building
                                                                                                                                                                                                                       through the facade and exits the building via the atrium in the middle
                                                                                                                                                                                                                       of the block.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                       This atrium also provides for extra day lighting that reflects of the
                                                                                                                                                                                                                       white walls and downwards into the apartments and the art centre.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                       On the south side of the building there is a large roof garden that
                                                                                                                                                                                                                       collects the rainwater to be reused.

The design proposal for ART lamoen (Strandveien 27) incorporates a number of sustainable concepts. The building is orientated towards the sun, with terraces on the south side of the volume. The main construction consists of wood and concrete. From the ground floor and up the construction material is almost entirely wood. The facade is covered with wooden slats mounted horizontally. These do not only serves as decorative cladding but also as sun is shades. Where there are windows the facade opens via wooden folding louvers. The building is ventilated with natural fresh air that enters the building through the facade and exits the building via the atrium in the middle of the block. This atrium also provides for extra day lighting that reflects of the white walls and downwards into the apartments and the art centre. On the south side of the building there is a large roof garden that collects the rainwater to be reused. 16 17 17 18 20
