This document provides information about Paras Enterprises and its electrolytic water pollution control equipment called Ecell. It discusses why wastewater treatment is important, how conventional sewage treatment plants work, and the advantages of Ecell's electrolytic process over conventional methods. Ecell uses electrolysis to treat wastewater, eliminating the need for chemicals and offering a more compact, low-maintenance solution.

2. Why treat waste water ?
Waste water composition
99.95 % Water + 0.05 % Impurities
34 Lakh children die every year due to water borne
diseases. 99 % of this are from developing countries.
That is every one child every 21 seconds.
Water borne diseases originate from human execrate.
Un - treated sewage is a time bomb that can’t be de - fused.

Ecell system committed to improve the foundations on which we live, on a global
scale. As we committed to healthcare, we consider it our duty to create health
provisions, especially in the area of waste water. The broad outline of our business is
to realize the best possible solution for mankind and the environment, and the most
economic.
Ecell system goal is to treat waste water with the process of electrolysis consuming
low electrical energy, eliminate use of chemicals and make them environmental,
user and operator friendly. Its have developed various ranges from waste water
treatment to water purification. Ecell system have designed for commercial,
residential waste water and industrial effluents applications like…

4. What is Sewage Treatment Process ( STP) and how it work ?
Sewage treatment is process of removing contaminant from domestic or household waste water
by following points :
In physical separation there is removal of solids, oil & grease.
Biological treatment by isolated bacteria’s to remove organic load.
Filtration by sand & carbon filters followed by disinfection of bacteria.
Treated water can be recycle as reuse in gardening, toilet flushing, floor washing etc.
The waste water from domestic sources otherwise called sewage could be treated by various
methods based on aerobic biological. Anaerobic biological treatment and electro-chemical
treatment processes. The most widely practiced method in India is base on aerobic biological
treatment of sewage. Electrolytic process is a technique involving the passage of electricity
through waste water or effluent to be treat. The electric current destabilizes the dissolved
colloid particles and alters the charge on suspended particles permitting their coagulation,
flotation and separation.

5. Advantages of the Electrolytic process :
Advantages of electrolytic sewage treatment are many as compared to other treatment
methods. It is an environmental, user and operator friendly, non-conventional process. It uses
clean electrical energy to treat the waste water. It eliminates use of chemicals. The system is
low noise, comparatively, clean and compact with small foot print. It has low life cycle cost
and offers very attractive performance to cost ratio.
1) Increases waste water reuse and recyclable characteristic.
2) Eliminates use of hazardous chemicals such as Chlorine.
3) Can be transferred or shifted with comparative ease.
4) Eliminates use of excessive number of chemicals.
5) Enhanced capacity to remove contaminants.
6) Easy operation and less maintenance.
7) Excellent performance to cost ratio.
8) Less consumption of electricity.
9) Require less space.

6. Why Sewage Treatment by Ecell process ?
Conventionally, sewage treatment means, it is…
Area intensive.
Power intensive.
Sludge intensive.
Civil work intensive.
Intensive of Chemical feed.
Ecell sewage treatment process is completely breaks this thought. It is unique…
Less space.
No CO2 emission.
Non-biological system.
Barest civil construction.
No need of sludge management.

7. Importance of Ecell sewage treatment :
Statutory compliance requirements, Economic factors, Disposal problems, self-regulatory
organizations, Environmental policies of organizations etc. have given this field its long-due
importance.

8. Brief description on process flow & scheme :
The raw sewage influent is taken into an equalization tank. This helps to maintain an equitable
flow and avoids shock loads to the treatment plant. The sewage is then pumped into the
Electro Cell where it is treated by Electrolysis. The treated waste water in Electro Cell is
filtered out through sand filter and taken by gravity to activated carbon filter, from where it
can be discharged or reuse/recycled. Disinfection dosing by gravity, which is discharged into
the equalization tank near the suction pipe for oxidation and into the treated water tank for
disinfection. The scum (waste) is skimmed by motorized skimmer, from the surface of the
Electro Cell and is taken into the waste slurry tank by gravity or can be taken to a sludge
drying bed. The settled sludge in the equalization tank can also be pumped into waste slurry
tank. This could be done periodically, depending upon the quantity of settled sludge.
The activated carbon filter and sand filter need to be periodically backwashed and the wash
could be taken to the waste slurry tank. The waste within the slurry tank is filter, time-to-time.
The excess quantity of supernatant liquid, within the slurry tank or from dewatering of slurry,
could be pumped back into the equalization tank for retreatment.

9. A brief comparison between conventional biological activated sludge process and electrolytic process :
Conventional STP Electrolytic STP
Takes very long time to establish bio mass Accelerated start up time
Needs continuous operation Can be operated as & when needed
Micro biological process Non biological process
Does not give disinfected water Gives Pathogen free out put
Need Aeration No need of Aeration
Needs to maintain MLSS in Aeration tanks No need to maintain MLSSS
Treated water cannot be used for most application Treated water can be recycled for many application
Shock load cannot be tackled Shock load can be easily tackled
Toxicity destroys MLSS, Restoration takes time Independent of toxicity
Noisy because of Aerators & its drives Noiseless
Generates more sludge with lower dewatering Less sludge with better dewatering
Clarity & quality of treated water is not as good Clarity & quality of treated water out put
Large plant with large foot print Compact plant with small foot print
Fixed construction Modular in construction
Difficult to expand Easily expandable
Difficult to operate Easy to operate
More than 75 % is moving parts Less moving parts
Difficult to maintain the plant Easy to maintain the plant
High plant downtime Low plant downtime
Low performance to cost ratio High performance to cost ratio
