Wine tasting is a hobby that can both increase a person’s
enjoyment of wine and appreciation of the winemaker’s
art. While it can take a lifetime to master, there are a few
points for beginners to remember.

3. Wine Tasting
• - Observe the color. The brighter the color,
the fresher the wine. With an inch or two of wine
in the glass, hold it up to a white or light surface
-- under sunlight if possible -- and note the
color. After about three years, the wine will
begin to darken. Its color can also indicate what
kind of barrel was used in the aging process; for
instance, red or dessert wines aged in oaken
casks often have a golden tint.

one overpowering smell immediately after it is poured,
