2. POTENTIAL OF COOPERATIVES TO VENTURE INTO AGRI EXPORTS
• Taking up the task of training farmers in the right use of fertilizers, and also help them
understand new technologies in farming
• Economically vibrant cooperatives can work for the welfare of the farmers and give them
credit at the time they need at a reasonable rate of interest.
• Agricultural cooperatives can play a vital role in linkage with National E-market (e-
NAM), emphasize value addition and encourage farmers to take up other allied activities
like poultry, beekeeping, fisheries.
• Have tremendous opportunities in addressing the problem of unemployment, and
facilitate income generation

3. AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVES –
RATIONALE FOR EXPORT LINKAGE
• Agricultural producers, suppliers, traders from
Cooperatives have competitive advantage and get access
to more supplies of inputs at reasonable cost
• Leveraging the economies of scale in line with Prime
Minister's advocacy for ‘vocal for local and local goes
global’
• Agricultural Cooperatives have the power of aggregation
and can generate quantum production and quality
produce

4. STRENGTHENING OF AGRI COOPERATIVES
• Financial assistance for Pre-harvest and Post harvest management through
various schemes of Line Ministries/Government agencies
• Capacity building of Cooperatives to facilitate for venturing into exports
• The bigger cooperatives such as IFFCO, KRIBHCO, NAFED, AMUL, MARKFED
etc. may be sensitized for venturing into agri exports
• Connecting the Cooperatives with the exporters for supplying produce for
exports and importers of potential countries through BSMs/R-BSMs
• Branding of products of Indian Cooperative sector
• Cooperatives to align with the agri clusters
• To encourage value addition and processing of identified agri products from
clusters

8. EXPORT PROMOTION OF AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVES
• In association with VAMNICOM (institution under Ministry of Cooperation),
Pune organized the first batch (out of the four) of Orientation Training
Programme on Agri Export Marketing for Cooperatives and FPOs between 03-
06 March, 2022.
• Organized a series of Orientation programs in association with NCDC-LINAC
for the Cooperatives of Northern, Eastern and North Eastern regions for
developing Cooperatives as Agri Exporters
• APEDA with a close association with COOPEXIL and NCDC along with other
multi-state Cooperatives will be able to successfully facilitate agri exports by
the cooperatives
• Facilitated the export consignments of fresh Banganpalli & Suvarnarekha
mangoes in coordination with IFFCO-SEZ, subsidiary of IFFCO from Chittoor,
Andhra Pradesh to South Korea

9. APEDA has been focusing on collaborative approach to bring synergy with number of organisations and
institutions having inherent professional and specialised expertise in different areas for capacity building
of various stakeholders.
Collaboration will provide solutions for addressing some of the identified interventions for the
development of Agriculture and its export enhancement.
MoUs were signed with following institutions to utilise their expertise by mutually working together to
synergize the activities in the interest of agriculture and allied sectors, for bringing better value to the
stakeholders across the export value chain.

11. VIRTUAL BUYER SELLER MEETS (V-BSMs)
A series of V-BSMs with Embassies, importers, Exporters and Product
associations from India was organised.
Forty eight V-BSMs have been organized by APEDA in association with
Indian Missions with UAE, Kuwait, Indonesia, Switzerland, Belgium, Iran,
Canada (Organic products), UAE & USA (GI products), Germany, South
Africa, Australia, Thailand, Oman, Nepal, Bhutan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan,
Vietnam, Netherlands, Brunei, Cambodia, South Korea, Sudan, Japan, GCC
Countries, Bahrain, Angola, Egypt, Algeria, Bangladesh, Morocco, Jordan,
Laos etc. E-catalogues were released while each BSM having details of
participant exporters, importers, Trade associations.
Subsequent to the V-BSM with Thailand, a Taste of India campaign was
organised where Indian fresh produce, dairy products and biryani cooked
from Basmati rice was showcased and served to the visitors in an event
organized in a retail store in cooperation with the Indian Embassy at
Bangkok.

12. On account of Covid-19 outbreak, organizing physical exhibitions and international trade fairs
could not be possible.
 APEDA took pioneer step and introduced its own Virtual Trade Fair (VTF) Platform through in-
house team to provide an opportunity for agri importers of several countries and Indian exporters to
interact through participation.
