2. Computers play a role in every field of life. They are
used at homes, business, educational institutions,
research organization, medical field, government
offices, entertainment etc. Nowadays, the traditional,
digital art, has become very popular since the same
artistic thinking and skills are applied by the artist.
Digital painting is a lot easier than the traditional
painting.

4. The technology is really a great help for the artist
nowadays because of the exceptional features of it in
facilitating their artworks. They used different
software to improve their skills and techniques in
creating digital arts such as drawing, coloring,
making floor plans, etc. Even though they used
technology for their artworks, the elements and
principle of arts were appropriately applied and turns
out to be amazing.

5. You can be a great artist because of the computer.
There are different software that can enhance or
improve your artwork which is really a big help in this
competitive era. Digital painting is a lot easier to
make than the traditional one. You can create your
own artworks similar to those famous painters such as
Vincent Willem Van Gogh, Amorsolo and others using
technology.

One of the famous digital painters.He is a
Lithuanian artist and studied to become an
architecture. He changed his path into
photography and became a great digital
painter. He used computer for his creation
to show the real life without bothering
anything.

7. DIGITAL PAINTING
is a new method that can draw or
create artwork beautifully using
technology such as computer, tablet
etc. with ease.

8. ADVANTAGES OF COMPUTER IN
DIGITAL PAINTING:
1. It is easy to erase and changed the errors.
2. Your output can be done in an organized manner, it is not
messy unlike when you use the real paint and brush.
3. Technically, colors will not fade and the brush will never ruin or
worn out.
4. Your artwork can be saved, filed and retrieve.
5. Your output can be transferred and printed in any media.
6. Output can be designed or formatted and can be easily send
to anyone who are interested.

10. SOFTWARE
It is an organized information in the
form of operating systems, utilities,
programs, and applications that
enable computers to work. Software
consists of carefully-organized
instructions and code written by
programmers in any of various special
computer languages.

11. SOFTWARE IS DIVIDED COMMONLY
INTO TWO MAIN CATEGORIES:
(1) System software: controls the basic (and invisible to the
user) functions of a computer and comes usually pre-
installed with the machine. See also Basic Input Output
System (BIOS) and Operating System.
(2) Application software: handles multitudes of common and
specialized tasks a user wants to perform, such as
accounting, communicating, data processing, word
processing.

12. OPEN-SOURCE GRAPHICS SOFTWARE OR FREEWARE
THAT CAN BE DOWNLOADED FOR FREE ARE:
1. GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program)-
similar with Adobe Photoshop
2. Inkscape- an open-source vector graphics
editor which is similar or alternative with Adobe
Illustration
3. Blender- a three-dimensional graphics
software which is similar with Maya, 3D Studio

13. MS PAINT
It is a pre-installed program in the
computer system and has a graphic
and painting tools that is built in
the Microsoft Windows version. It
can be used to create and draw
digital arts and paintings, color
and enhance or edit pictures.

14. TECHNICAL THINGS THAT NEED TO BE OBSERVED IN
REAL PAINTINGS THAT WILL HELP YOU TO IMPROVE
AND CREATE YOUR OWN STYLE IN ARTWORKS:
1. Understand how the elements and art work on
designs
As a beginner you need to know on how to
apply the elements and principles in your
drawing. Always think that when you create an
image it should tell a story you want to portray.

In creating your image in the computer, you
need to know the materials that you need
which can help you a lot. When you put your
artwork or image from paper to computer you
already digitally formatting your output.

16. MATERIALS NEEDED IN DIGITAL PAINTING:
a. Computer you cannot create your digital
painting without this technology. It is necessary
that your computer is powerful enough in
running software program like the Random
Access Memory (RAM).

17. MATERIALS NEEDED IN DIGITAL PAINTING:
b. Scanner it is also important in digital
painting; without this you cannot digitize
your artwork.

18. MATERIALS NEEDED IN DIGITAL PAINTING:
c. Digital tablet and stylus. It is necessary
you know on how to use your brush in digital
painting. The varying degree on the use of
your brush will no longer be difficult in
digital painting because of the pen stylus
(pen tool) to make marks and a digital
tablet to communicate directions to
computer.
