Council 1
1. To the council:
One member joined the Rundle Team. He wanted to serve as unrestrained as an eagle in full flight.
Trusted by the institutions above him, he would be self-actualized to engineer for the junior youth what
has been written in the Text. He was not the object of trust after all. The institutions above him imposed
so much weight that his flight ebbed to the ground.
Leva and Leilacoordinated group activities during the first two phases. The team did not decide to
implement coordinators, nor did it decide to appoint the familiar for this responsibility. Nonetheless,
they oversaw group activities.
The group was unmotivated because of the limitations imposed on it by the coordinators. Some
believed demotivation was caused by group disunity, and/or faults of individual members. No,
demotivation was caused by the functioning of coordinators.
To solve this problem, coordinators should not be appointed. Instead, the group should consult on all
matters. This includes the structure of the group itself.
Please, if the reader doesn’t believe that coordinators cause group unempowerment, believe that the
empowerment of each memberwould’ve saved the group from the problems that it eventually faced.
Ifeach member was empowered, the group would’ve been united in its effort. The faults of individual
members would’ve been overlooked in favour of one common purpose. Members would’ve been
allowed to sleep and serve vitally. The team would’ve consulted on all matters. Junior Youth would’ve
been empowered by the example established by the animator.
The truths of these words were not realized during Leva and Leila’s office, and the group appointed
anotherfor the subsequent phase.
The Rundle Team must balance structure with freedom. Freedom is hard to establish if there’s distrust,
but Baha’is are worthy of trust. They are destined to soar as an eagle in full flight.
Sincerely,
Justin Perreault
