Gospel Reading:
Matthew 28:16-20
W - When they saw him, they worshipped but they doubted.
O - God is ordering me to believe and no doubt
R - The opening scene of the Gospel is on the mountain of Galilee. Jesus had instructed his
disciple to travel on his “mountain”. When Jesus appeared to them, they were excited and
overjoyed and they worship him. However, within a minute, their faith and joy began to
disappeared because they began to doubt. I have an encounter with the same feelings,
even if I am here in the formation house. I have also that “mountain”. A mountain that is
so much difficult to climb because these are trials, problems, persecutions, and stormy
wind of sadness of life that the world brings to me. And I have to face and overcome
those difficulties before I can reach the peak of that “mountain”. That sometimes I almost
give up, then my faith is shaken and turns me into doubt. But this Gospel today, this
Ascension Sunday wakes me up to face the reality as believers of Christ that there is no
doubt if we stand on our belief. And that belief will push me up to do the mission
entrusted to me by Jesus as He states in this way, “Therefore go and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, and
teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” I know that I am chosen to
fulfill this mission. So, I don’t have a right to refuse it or to rely on any variety of reasons
and excuses to unable to do the work.
D - Today, I will do all my works with faith and stand firm on it.
