3. Dear Patrons,
It gives me immense pleasure to present to you the
first-ever Jumac Newsletter “Jumac Live”.
Jumac was started by my father Shri Shyam
Sundar Fogla in the year 1974 as an aluminum
sliver can manufacturing company. With sheer
passion and hard work, he had led the company to
where it is today.
The progress of Jumac has propelled Fogla Group
to become a USD 250 Million enterprise with
diverse interests in Chemicals, Fertilizers,
Engineering and Packaging products. The group
takes pride in hosting one of the largest Sulphuric
Acid & LABSA plants in Kharagpur, West Bengal,
India.
I take immense pride in presenting Team Jumac
led by Surendra Sharma and Himanshu Fogla.
They are taking Jumac to newer heights. We are
also privileged to have a great team of
hardworking Partners and Agents in India and

abroad. They deserve a lot of credit for the
success we have achieved. To celebrate this
association, we had organised the first ever
Partner Connect Meet of the company in Feb
2020 and our first newsletter is a perfect
platform to refresh the event in our memories.
Although we are into business for 5-decades, the
soul of Jumac is still very young. In the last five
years, the team has shown phenomenal growth,
receiving accolades from the customers and
partners globally. Increasing our mission is to be
the no. 1 in the trade our revenue 10-times over
the next 5-years.
I wish you all the best. Enjoy going through this
newsletter.
Thank You,
Regards,
Shri Sandeep Fogla

4. Dear Friends,
This is an extremely emotional moment for me as
I write to all of you for the first-ever newsletter for
Jumac. I joined Jumac in the year 2000 with an
experience of a decade in other sectors (Stock
market, Manufacturing, Hire Purchase/Lease).
Privileged enough to be handheld by our founder,
the then chairman, Shri Shyam Sundar Fogla, my
initial learning about the trade was deep-rooted.
Over the next decade, I was given the responsibility
to modernise people and machinery and make the
plant ready for the 21st century. I had also worked
closely with our partner network across India to
create a strong market presence for Jumac.
For many of whom I have met over the last 20
years, know me as a person of commitment and
quality. Perhaps, some of these attributes are
today reflected in the way we operate.
When Mr Sandeep Fogla took over the reins of the
group, he had bestowed more trust and
responsibility on my shoulders. And I thank him for
this opportunity. Taking over as CEO from 2015, my
04

focus has been to take Jumac to the No. 1 position
in the market.
As an engineering product, it is very important to
excel in terms of quality. Jumac has been
investing in improving its facility continuously and
pushing its boundaries wherever possible to be
the absolute best. We take all criticism positively
and ensure to be a better brand. This philosophy
has guided us for over 5 decades to be a trusted
brand and partner in the industry.
There will be competition, there will be challenges.
But a brand, built on absolute honesty will be
there to stay. Just like we had done, for the last
five decades.
I thank each one of you for your support and hope
you enjoy reading our newsletter.
Thank You

5. Dear Patrons,
To have our first-ever Newsletter released is a
dream come true for me. Just like many other firsts
we did in the last decade. I call it the decade of
Aspiration at Jumac. We, as a team, have decided
not to settle down with organic growth, but grow
like a leader. This decade of 20s was full of such
moments and memories for us.
My journey with Jumac started in the year 2011.
And soon, we ended up being a part of the hugely
successful India ITME 2012. It opened up our global
aspirations over the next few years. From
exporting to 4 countries and 12 partners, we grew
towards exporting to 25 countries through a
network of 38 partners (including domestic and
international).
But the real magic unfurled in 2016 as the brand
Jumac Sliver Cans was re-branded, rendering a
unique identity outside the Fogla Group. This
followed with a well strategised Marketing
Approach that included a new Website, Print,
Digital Media. We focused on building better
products and telling people proudly about that.
05
From the Director’s Desk
The India ITME 2016 was a platform to showcase
this change.
As mentioned earlier, this decade was special for
many firsts. Our first-ever ITMA Barcelona
participation, marked the launch of Jumac Smart
Cans - yet another ‘first’ initiative of the company.
And the immense support and overwhelming
appreciation motivated the team to strive for
better innovation in future. However, the most
special part among all achievements was
celebrating this progress with our partners at our
first ever Partner Meet early this year -
“JumacKonnect 1.0”.
This ‘first’ newsletter is dedicated to the
memories of this special event and I am confident
that with our cumulative dedication and hard
work, we will make the next decade even more
special for all of us.
Thank you.

6. “Our revolutionary sliver cans ease
operational time & maintenance”
Jumac, a pioneer in spinning can manufacturing in
India, was founded in the year 1974 with a mission
to deliver quality cans, catering to the jute and
textile industry. With superior quality being it’s core
philosophy, Jumac takes pride in it’s most modern
state-of-the-art manufacturing plant. The entire
range of products and accessories are made
in-house enabling full control and monitoring of the
process.
Himanshu Fogla, Director, Jumac Manufacturing,
speaks on how the company is meeting the
challenges of the market’s demands today.
Excerpts…
Take us through the journey of Jumac over the
years.
It’s truly unbelievable that we are manufacturing
sliver cans for the last five decades. Perhaps that’s
our biggest strength and expertise. Founded in
06
Feature Article
1974 by Shyam Sundar Fogla, we started with
manufacturing aluminium sliver cans for the
domestic jute manufacturing industry. This is from
where we borrow our name JU-MAC too.
Pioneering the product, we were one of the first to
manufacture and introduce HDPE sliver cans for
the textile industry. The year 1988 was a turning
point for us when we ventured into export markets.
Jumac has always been a step ahead in product
innovation. From introducing plastic cans in 1897,
butt sheet welding in 1988, hardened and
tempered spring in 1996, dust-free casters in
2003, 1200mm cans for Truetzschler machines in
2015, multiplying springs in 2016 to the
revolutionary Smart Can technology in 2019. Our
innovations have redefined the industry, followed
by the competition and are today a minimum
benchmark for the product. Today, Jumac is a
strong domestic player and exports to 24
countries, with a strong network of 12 domestic and
24 international partners, serving thousands of
leading spinning mills worldwide.
How is your company meeting the challenges of
the market’s demands today? If any up-gradation/
expansion has happened, please give details.
Being proactive has always been in the DNA of
Jumac. We simply do not believe in following the
herd, rather leading by example, by innovation.
Being part of $250 million turnover Fogla Group,
we are one of the first manufacturers in the trade
to setup our in-house R&D lab. We made sure we
were always on-time or ahead.
While challenging times like these are teaching the
world importance of technology and going digital,
we have introduced IoT driven smart can
technology for our customers a year back. A tool
that not only eases operational and maintenance
time but also helps our customers track their
orders from production to dispatch to deliver at
their facility.
What has been the impact of Covid-19 on the
business you are in?
Covid-19 is an unprecedented scenario. We are all
in it together. We took immediate steps to shut

capital item with a longer depreciation time, the
priority should always be on quality, consistency
and after-sale service – attributes that Jumac has
always associated itself with. This is why we enjoy
over 78 per cent repeat customers globally.
In our sector, especially spinning cans have seen
very few international players in the Indian market.
The domestic competition is good and healthy.
Make in India is progressing well in many segments.
How has it made strides in your company’s
production? What are the specific quality
measures you have adopted/installed to take care
of this?
Make in India has been a good initiative and of
course, opened new avenues for Indian
manufacturers. There is far more acceptance of
Indian products in the global market than before
and has also pushed Indian manufacturers to
produce goods of global standards.
About 66 per cent growth in units sold in last
one year and 50 per cent growth in export markets
alone speak a lot of our product quality and its
global acceptance. When customers buy from
Jumac they invest in our values, our commitments.
Is your company in export? Which are the markets,
old and new? What are the scope, prospects and
problems?
Many countries with cotton production still lies
untapped, but with growing globalisation and
better investment opportunities, we soon expect
many more countries to join in the race. We have
strong presence in 24 countries through our
partners.
However, we have exported to 36 countries across
North America, Latin America, Africa, Europe, the
Middle East and CIS countries, Indian Sub
Continent and South East Asia.
In domestic production, does your company have
any future plans to expand or diversify into other
related products? Give some details, if so.
With growing demands, we are on way to establish
our third production unit in Kharagpur, which once
operational, will produce over 25,000 cans per
month, and would be closer to the nearest port at
Haldia.
We also are adding new products like trolleys and
baskets in our kitty. Recta cans for the open-end
machines are also in pipeline.
down operations to ensure the safety and
well-being of our employees and their family. We
also touch-based with all our customers and
partners worldwide to give them confidence,
support and re-iterate our commitment to our core
values.
Because we operate globally, we understand
different countries will react differently to the
situation, and so will industries in these countries.
We are following up regularly with our partners
and gearing up proactively with our strategies to
make the best out of the current situation.
Domestic markets are expected to resume soon as
our facilities have also opened up after the
lockdown.
It is slightly early to comment on the larger impact
of Covid-19 as huge efforts to contain them are still
in place. But as textile is one of the most essential
human need after food, we expect a lesser impact
in this sector.
What are your major products for the industry?
What are the distinguishing characteristics and
features of your major products?
We enjoy our reputation globally through
mastering a single product – HDPE sliver cans.
Our products with all its accessories are
manufactured under a single roof at our 28,000
sq.m. facility across two locations. Equipped with
German Machinery, our facility produces HDPE
cans with seamless welded sheets and duly
hardened and tempered springs ensuring
precision and consistency.
Offering a wide range from 400mm to 1200mm
diameter, our Cans are successfully used for a
variety of fibres across leading OEM machines
from Rieter, Truetzschler, LMW, Marzoli, etc. All our
sliver cans come with the revolutionary smart can
technology that simply eases the operational time
and maintenance on the floor.
Are similar but cheaper products hurting your
industry? Give some details. Do you think
Government intervention is needed to stem cheap
import? What are the other measures that you
think are necessary?
There will always be demand for products at
different price points, giving more space for the
industry to grow. However, what matters is the
value the product brings in. Sliver cans being a
8. The Production Tour
The Beginning
Jumac Konnect 1.0, the much-awaited Partners'
Meet, started on an enthusiastic note on 14th
February 2020. Over 30 Partners from across the
globe reached Kolkata and Jumac gave them a
warm welcome at the airport and the hotel. The
announcement first-ever Partner's Meet had
already created a lot of buzz among the partners
and they looked forward forward to having a
wonderful and enriching experience. They
anxiously waited to meet with each other, know
each other's operations and most importantly,
were anxious to get to know Jumac, inside out,
quite literally! Just as promised, Jumac Konnect
1.0 was all about empowering our partners and
forging trust.
The Grand Welcome at the Facility
The spirit and energies of our partners set the ball
rolling. After a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel,
we, along with our Partners headed towards our
factory for a production tour- the first very crucial
event and the ice-breaker of Jumac Konnect 1.0.
On arriving at our factory site, our Partners were
given a grand welcome in the traditional Bengal
way with the beats of Dhol - the double-sided
Indian drum! Women clad in ethnic white sarees
08
with red borders, put tilak on their foreheads and
garlanded them - a traditional gesture of
welcoming in India. Receiving the second round of
welcome in a grand way was something that our
partners could never forget. They were
overwhelmed with joy!
Introducing The Invaluable Assets
Our employees are our real assets. Jumac derives
strength from them every day. Without their
relentless efforts, we would not have come this far
in our journey. And, introducing them to our
partners was the only best way to start our series
of events planned at the factory. Mr Surendra
Sharma, the CEO of Jumac, introduced each one of
them to our partners citing the value they add and
their job roles. Our Partners cheered for their
contributions and hard work. What better way than
this to recognise their arduous efforts!
The Facility Tour
After the introductory session, it was time for the
main highlight of the day - the production tour.
Our CEO, Mr Surendra Sharma and our Director,
Mr Himanshu Fogla, conducted this tour. Taking our
Partners around the factory for a tour, they
demonstrated the entire production process of
Partners from across the world at Jumac facility
9. Sliver Cans. From carding to roving and spinning,
at each step of yarn processing, there is one
indispensable apparatus - the Sliver Cans. At
Jumac, every minute detailing in the production
process is taken care of to offer sliver cans that
meet the demands of our customers.
We shared complete production knowledge with
our Partners, to give them a good amount of
understanding so that they can utilise the same
and serve their clients better. Right from shaping
the HDPE sheets to placing the springs inside the
can and more. Mr Sharma and Mr Fogla, also
explained to them the different levels of quality
checks.
At Jumac, we believe in a holistic approach.
To educate our partners is of course a major part
of it. An informed partner can understand the
products well and help us in generating business
worldwide. Indeed a WIN-WIN model is what we
always rely upon! Learning about the entire
production process, the Partners were content.
Some of them even noted down every single detail
for future references. This tour, as was promised,
had given them complete clarity and the smiles on
their faces exuded confidence which in turn, made
us happy.
Product Interaction Session
The production tour was followed by lunch. Post
lunch, the product interaction session was
scheduled. During this session, our Product
Manager, Md. Sarfaraz Alam, and our Quality
Control Head - Rajendranath Polley, explained all
the nitty-gritty of handling the product. They laid
special stress on the importance of sliver can
assembling, the most crucial part in Can handling.
Mr Himanshu Fogla, added how important it is for
the new markets to have the complete knowledge
09
of assembling. He also focussed on the need of
having expert assemblers for clients who are
relatively new in the field and are yet to learn about
all the technicalities about sliver cans and sliver
handling.
The product interaction was followed by a Q&A
session where the partners put up their queries
about the essentials of sliver cans. Mr Himanshu
Fogla and the partners discussed on the body
sheets, about springs being the heart of the cans,
ways to determine what spring to choose, about
having fluff-free castor wheels, types of wheels
suited for heavy loads and many other significant
aspects that help in optimising the best quality of
yarn production.
The production tour ended on a happy note with
our partners feeling satisfied and fully charged up
witnessing our excellent infrastructure, and
learning about our efficient and robust operations.
A new wave of credence was built in their minds
and the trust of being associated with one of the
leading brands was strengthened, once again.

The Gala Night
After a terrific start to the first day of the event with the Production Tour, it was
only befitting to keep the excitement and the energy going. While our Partners
had spent a whole day understanding our product and seeing our infrastructure
and production process first-hand, the evening was planned to rejoice the
first-of-its-kind Partners’ Meet of Jumac and most importantly, to celebrate our
association with the driving force of Jumac.
Auspicious Lighting Up of the Lamp ceremony at the Event
11. The Auspicious Beginning
In India, Lord Ganesha is revered as the God of
beginnings and is honoured at the start of rites and
ceremonies. Conquest 2020- The Gala Night
Celebration started with a performance on
Ganesh Vandana by Suryanshi Sharma, daughter
of our CEO, Mr Surendra Sharma. And what a
performance it was! Suryanshi’s brilliance, aura
and her perfection was a reflection of her sheer
passion and her dedication towards performing
arts. The audience, most of whom were witnessing
Indian classical dancing for the first time, was left
spell-bound. A big round of applause from them
declared the event had struck the right chords of
all hearts.
The Official Welcoming
Mr Himanshu Fogla, Director of Jumac, welcomed
the partners, post the performance with a vote of
thanks for being a part of the event and making it a
success. Although the event had witnessed
wonderful participation, some of the oldest and
treasured partners couldn’t make it. But, ‘near-far
wherever they are’, they always stand firmly
Jumac, no matter what.
Special video messages sent by respected
S Kuppuswamy from Tamil Nadu, and Late
Mr Pankaj Kundu from Bangladesh- partners
associated for nearly four decades, stands
testament to their unending support, their passion
and their love for Jumac. They shared with us their
journeys with Jumac and wished us success in all
endeavours. Their invigorating words renewed our
zeal. Mr Himanshu Fogla then called upon the
stage Mr Sandeep Fogla, Chairman of Jumac to
address the partners.
Words From The Chairman
Mr Sandeep Fogla, who was overwhelmed by the
participation of partners in such huge numbers,
thanked one and all. He expressed his heartfelt
gratitude to them for their continued support and
contribution. Wishing the team and the partners
success, he shared how confident he was about
completing 100 years of Jumac with teamwork,
efforts and connection.
Post his inspiring speech, it was time for a special
segment-words from our Partners! This was the
long-awaited moment of listening to their inputs,
their thoughts and their story of being associated
with Jumac. Our partners, although, unaware of
this segment, came forward and shared their
journey, their concerns and their ideas about
bettering the Jumac experience.
11
12. With kind words and their good wishes, we pledged
to work better, harder and together towards
achieving shared goals.
Music, Dance & More
With partner participations from around the globe,
we made sure they got a real and pure glimpse of
India and its diversity. One that the country is
well-known for. The next set of performances of
the evening showcased the rich cultural diversity of
India and presented a glimpse of Bengal through
Classical, Fusion and Folk dance performances.
The pulsating beats and the extraordinary blend of
dance forms left our partners in awe. This was
followed by felicitation of our international
partners by Mr Sandeep Fogla and Mr Himanshu
12
Fogla, and felicitation of our national partners by
Mr Sandeep Fogla and Mr Surendra Sharma.
Once again, it was time for yet another
performance, but this time, the grandest of all and
what we would otherwise refer to as the
showstopper: Mahisasurmardani, the dance
drama. Durga, the goddess of war, whose
mythology centres around combating evils and
demonic forces that threaten peace, prosperity, is
hailed for her strength through this. The
performance left all in a trance, one that left them
speechless! This followed other mesmerising
performances.
The Felicitation Ceremony
Our employees are our assets and although we
celebrate them and their achievements throughout
the year, this event gave us the perfect platform to
commemorate them and their hard efforts. Our
mentor, Mr Narendra Sharma and our Chairman,
Mr Sandeep Fogla, felicitated them with tokens of
appreciation. Mr Mukta Dhawa, our
longest-serving and the senior-most employee was
honoured with a Scooty. His contributions have
been significant in our journey and he deserved to
be celebrated. The entire hall gave him a
thunderous applause.
With a buffet of performances, a DJ party,
performances of our employees &our partners,
and a sumptuous dinner arrangement, the rest half
was no less than a blockbuster event. It was a night
to remember! The memories of which would remain
afresh and etched in our hearts forever!
Presenting momentos to our Partners
13. Annual
Sales Conference
13
Introducing the Fogla Group
The second day of the event was entirely devoted
to the sales conference. The key takeaways from
the entire event were scheduled for this day and
the Partners looked forward to it. This was
instrumental in deciding the future course of
action. Mr Himanshu Fogla, Director of Jumac,
opened the event inviting Mr Sandeep Fogla,
Chairman of Jumac, to begin with, his opening
speech followed by a special presentation on Fogla
Group.
Mr Sandeep Fogla introduced all to Fogla Group-
the parent company and a USD 250 million
enterprise having diverse interests in chemicals,
engineering, polymer and agriculture. He
presented the pride possessions of the group -
Kharagpur Unit - the largest Sulphuric Acid plant in
Eastern India & one of the largest single-location
state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities for
LABSA. Partners were given a virtual glimpse of
the plant, its capacity, the manufacturing process,
backward integration, 100% self-sustaining power
supply and more. This presentation brought in a
new wave of pride in all the Partners. The entire
picture and the notion got re-painted. Being
associated with a large and a multifaceted
conglomerate, not just excited them but boosted
them with renewed confidence.
Recollecting the Glorious Past
After Mr Sandeep Fogla’s speech, Mr Surendra
Sharma, CEO of Jumac Cans, presented his
thoughts. He started his speech with a vote of
thanks to the partners for their responses to the
event and their successful participation in such
short notice. Welcoming all to Kolkata, he took the
audience for a time travel: to the ‘Age of Wisdom’
when the journey of Jumac began under the
dynamic leadership of Shri Shyam Sundar Fogla as
a Can and Spares supplier in the jute industry. He
narrated instances and stories from the past of
becoming the pioneers of aluminium cans in
Eastern India leveraging the ever-growing jute Sandeep Fogla shares his vision for the Group

industry of Bengal.
Sharing the timeline of progress, he reflected upon
the significant events and achievements in the
history of Jumac- global expansions, maiden
participation in India ITME 2000, launching XL
Cans and more. It was Mr Shyam Sundar Fogla’s
relentless efforts and dedication that laid the
foundation of Jumac. His guidance and his cordial
relationships with partners and clients across the
globe was instrumental in paving the way for the
company’s success. Without him, Jumac ceases to
exist. Sharing glimpses of him and his associates
from the past was the perfect way to revisit the
golden times. The memories of flashbacks on the
giant screen soothed the hearts while the teary
eyes relived the fond moments that were lost in the
sands of time.
From the “Age of Wisdom”, it was time for the
audience to travel to the “Age of Speed”
spearheaded by our guardian, Mr Sandeep Fogla.
Mr Sharma reflected upon milestones like moving
to a larger facility with new and advanced
machines, massive global expansions,
participation in global texfairs, the soft launch of
Smart Can and finally announced the big moment
of the day- the ultimate launch of Jumac Smart
Can App scheduled later in the evening. Sharing
the vision of attaining market leadership by 2025,
Mr Sharma ended his speech.
The Future Path of Aspiration
While Mr Sandeep Fogla and Mr Surendra Sharma
had touched base on the expanse, the history and
the mission of Jumac, it was time for Mr Himanshu
Fogla to throw light on the journey ahead and to
share the set of aspirations that would fuel the
passion and steer one and all towards growth and
success.
He began his speech with the thought behind‘
empowering partners’. Terming the Partners as
the ‘Drivers of Growth’, presented to them the
growth chart of the last three years. Mr Fogla
revealed the phenomenal growth of 2019-2020
that was almost double than the past years and
thanked the Partners for their relentless efforts!
He added that the growth gives Jumac the
impetus to keep galloping ahead, with energy and
vigour and hence empowering partners and
believing in the belief of “multiplying and not
adding” would be the road ahead.
Talking further about the phenomenal growth
statistics, the Director explained to the Partners
the remarkable change in the production aspect
that had been majorly responsible besides the
conjoined efforts of the company and the partners.
Enhancement of the product, the scalability factor,
improvement in terms of quality and the price had
laid the foundation stone of the change. Not to
mention the contribution of the employees, staff
and workers - the lifeline of Jumac and the great
work culture of the company. Mr Himanshu added
that having come this far, the only way forward
would be to - Take the Challenge ...Head On as
Jumac is “The No.#1” choice globally and does not
compete with any other brand. With the mention of
this bold and meaningful statement, the Partners
broke into a loud applause.
Win-Win with Partners at the Core
Being an amazing speaker and self-motivated
person, Mr Himanshu Fogla enlightened the minds
of the Partners and motivated them citing incidents
from real life and examples of leading brands and
their journey towards success, achieving nothing
but the best, at any cost. Sharing the next 5 years
plan, he added that it would be nothing less than
attaining excellence and remaining to be the No.1!
In addition to this, he talked about the
WIN-WIN-WIN model that would align all towards
Himanshu Fogla sharing his road map for next 5 years
15. 15
the shared goal. A model where Customers win
with a great product, Partners win with
associations and financial growth and the
Company wins with growth in profitability and
expansion of its reach globally.
To attain this winning model, he explained the 4P
Strategy of Jumac that includes: Product, Price,
Promotion & the most important pillar, the
Partners. To explain this strategy factor, the
Director informed all about conducting continuous
research to improve the product along with
revamping and remodelling of the pricing strategy
to benefit the customers and the partners. Talking
about the promotion planning, he reflected upon
the fact of having implemented a dynamic digital
strategy for advertising the product massively on
all platforms to reach new audiences every single
day. New and multi-lingual website, data-driven
communication, regular updates, strong SEO
targeting and more, to name a few digital
measures. Along with this, regular participation in
all global texfairs and regular advertisements in
textile magazines has been a large part of the
company’s promotional activities.
Talking about the fourth pillar, i.e- the Partners,
Mr Himanshu Fogla yet again highlighted the
importance of empowering them. Empowering
them with education, through knowledge of the
product, the production process, the assembling
which is the significant yet critical part of the entire
process and more. He promised to provide them
with all materials that would aid them in closing
deals with confidence. Partners, by now, were
boosted with enthusiasm. Mr Fogla, further
launched the unique scheme - the Target Top 10
that would give them a clear idea of their
immediate goal ahead. Promising to soar higher
together with the Partners, he ended his speech.
Operational Launch of Jumac Smart Can App
It was time to put an end to waiting and announce
the most awaited part of the entire event: The
Official Launch of Jumac Smart Can App.
Mr Surendra Sharma and Mr Himanshu Fogla
invited Mr Hamdy Hamed and Mr Alisher Dada,
Partners from Egypt and Uzbekistan, to do the
honours. And finally, the launch took place! A quick
16. 16
sneak-peek of the app and its user-friendly
features revealed how the Smart Can Technology
would ensure that mills owners get access to
technical details of each Can instantly to solve
product issues faster. In addition to this, they can
also get access to real-time tracking, avail priority
customer support and do much more. The
audience cheered and clapped and welcomed the
intelligent technological addition.
Thoughtful Exchange of Words
After the launch and presentations & speeches, a
3-hour slot was dedicated for Partner Interaction.
They interacted with the senior officials of the
company and clarified all that was needed to
market and sell the product to customers. The
Partners also held detailed discussions on how to
use the promotional strategy to the fullest extent in
addition to expressing their other concerns about
the aspects that might act as a barrier in the way
of closing a deal. With this session, the eventful day
came to an end.
On a Lighter Moment
After day-long discussions and presentations, it
was only befitting to unwind. A dinner night in a
plush rooftop restaurant overlooking the city was
in store for the Partners. The cool breeze, the city
lights right from above and music added zing to the
dinner plan. Chatting, interacting, smiling and
clicking pictures, the Partners had a wonderful
time! The city of Kolkata had enthralled them for
sure.

CITY OF JOY
Discovering the
After making Jumac Konnect 2020 a grand success, it was time for our Partners to explore
the 'City of Joy' known for its culture, people, food, music, and literature. A city that's also rich
in its historical heritage.
While few of our partners had already visited the city before, others had come here for the
very first time. They were super enthusiastic about the tour and they had already charted
down the places they wished to visit. Jumac was happy to be their tour guide. Post
breakfast, we set out for an exciting day!

Steeped in Tradition: Dakshineswar Temple
The City of Joy is steeped in vibrant cultures and
diverse traditions. These attributes lend a unique
attribute to Kolkata making it all the more
charming. Hence, the first destination had to be
the famous Dakshineswar Temple located on the
eastern banks of the Hoogly River. Widely known
for its religious magnificence, this temple is an
architectural marvel. More than 100ft high, the
temple replicates the nine spires and three-story
style of Bengal architecture.
The presiding deity of the temple is Bhavatarini, an
aspect of Goddess Kali. The unhindered view of the
river mesmerised all. We clicked pictures, visited
the 12 shrines and explored the place. The smiles
on their faces ensured us that the day had taken
off on the right note.
Amidst Tranquility: Belur Math
The next destination on the list was the
much-awaited place - Belur Math, the
headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math and
Mission, founded by the great Swami Vivekananda.
Having heard and read a lot about this wonderful
place where Swami breathed his last breath, our
Partners were eager to visit it.
We soon reached the place and our Partners were
awestruck by its very first glimpse- an enormous
gate and the asphalted road, camouflaged by a
canopy of giant trees leading to the main temple.
We visited the remodelled Math cottage housing
the room where Swami Vivekananda spent his last
days and the Math Temple. The tranquil
atmosphere and the peace all around enriched the
experience of our Partners. We spent hours sitting
by the temple taking in the fantastic view of the
Hoogly River while its cool breeze brushed our
faces.
Of Art, Architecture & More: Prinsep Ghat
More places were on our list. Hence, after spending
some wonderful moments in Belur Math, we
headed towards our third destination. The city of
Kolkata preserves the remnants of the Colonial Era
to this day. It stands as a testament to the
grandeur of the Greek and Victorian-style
architecture. We reached Prinsep Ghat, the
palladian porch built in the memory of the eminent
Anglo-Indian scholar and antiquary James
Prinsep. All our Partners had requested us to
include this scenic spot seeing its beauty in the
pre-event teasers that we had sent across.
Witnessing the charm of this architectural
grandeur, we strolled along the banks of the Hoogly
River. Our Partners clicked pictures of the beams of
light arraying on the Vidyasagar Setu. The
palladian and Vidyasagar Setu provided us with
just the perfect backdrop for a group photograph.
Although this place offers magnificent views during
sunset, we could not wait until the evening as our

Partners were yet to visit one of the most iconic
landmarks of the city- The Victoria Memorial.
The Living History: Victoria Memorial
We reached the place in the evening. A look at this
grandeur and our Partners realised this intricate
monument is more than an exceptional structure.
As we had narrated earlier to them, they couldn't
agree any less: it was indeed the "Finest Building in
Bengal" and indeed a "Poem in Marble" built as a
memorial to the deceased Queen Victoria.
Our Partners explored the art galleries which owns
a worthy and commendable collection of rare
creative works, antique books, and noteworthy
artefacts. The six water bodies encircling the
memorial, the vivid greenery, the tree-lines paths,
the water fountains and the enticing beauty of the
flora and fauna offered them an experience that
would remain etched in their minds forever. The Taj
of the Raj surely won over their hearts that evening.
We had very little time left in hand. While our
partners visited some really great places, many
more remained unseen. Kolkata- the former British
capital of India with an illustrious past is rich in art,
architecture and literature. The exhilarating city
tour organised by Jumac helped the Partners
witness the artistic grandeur, unique culture and
more, first-hand. The tour ended with great
memories. We promised them to help them explore
Kolkata completely, on their next visit to the city.
Few of our Partners were scheduled to travel the
very same evening. So, we returned back to the
hotel.

Making Spinning Smarter - Using
Technology to help Spinning Mills
save operational time on the Floor
Feature Article
Jumac Smart Can
Jumac has been manufacturing Spinning Cans for
more than 4-decades. Technology and Innovation
have always pushed us to manufacture a better
product. Started with manual production units for
almost all parts of the Can, today, the facility is a
fully automated one. Technology has allowed
Jumac to improve on the product quality, bring
accuracy in the process, scale-up production
volumes, and reduce manual intervention
wherever possible.
Better products ensure Happier customers. Over
the years, our product innovation and quality have
enjoyed loyalty from top spinning mill owners and
partners across the world by making us one of the
leading manufacturers of Sliver Cans globally.
Where it all began
The idea of Jumac Smart Cans started in early
2019, when the core team, R&D team, and our
brand consultants came together towards
planning our positioning at the ITMA Barcelona.
Opportunities like ITMA allow you to showcase your
very best. It also shows the path towards the future
as well as what the customers can expect from you.
The Internet of Things is a growing buzzword in
today's world. Every device around you, from your
Car to TV, AC to Fridge, is connected to your phone.
At your workplace, Smartphones can access
wireless and BlueTooth devices around you. Sliver
Cans are no different. We connected the Sliver
Cans with your Smartphones.
What is your offering?
Jumac Smart Cans is a combination of our Smart
Sliver Cans and the Jumac Smart Can App. While
the Sliver Cans come with a pre-coded QR code
attached to each new batch of the product, the
Smart Can App is exclusively accessible to our
customers when you place your first order with us.
Scan the QR code, and let the App do the rest of
the magic.
By Himanshu Fogla, Director at Jumac.

Has the Can launched and is it Operational?
Yes, a glimpse of Jumac Smart Can App was
revealed at the ITMA Barcelona 2019. Following
which we committed our partners that the App will
be operational by early 2020. Finally at our Annual
Partners Conference in Kolkata, India - we
launched the fully functional App. It is now
available for download at both Android Play Store
and iPhone Appstore.
How does the App help in saving Operational
Time?
Spinning Mills are huge facilities with hundreds and
thousands of Spinning Cans roaming around far
from the administrative offices. It often gets
difficult for operators to identify the details of a
Can while working on the mill floor as the Can
technical details are available in the administrative
office. Identify the dimensions of a Can, or making
a service complaint regarding any specific Can -
might get tough for an operator.
Jumac Smart Can helps you to Scan the QR code
on the Can, and you get instant access to the
Technical Specifications. It also allows placing an
immediate service request for that specific batch
of cans, as the system populates the rest of the
information from the QR Code itself. All you need is
a worked Internet connection. It saves a lot of
operational time.
Spinning Mill owners can also provide access to the
floor managers making it easier to use it in
operations.
What more does the App do?
I think another great feature of the Can is to enable
customers to place an order of a new can. It also
allows them to track the order from the App. Live
update from the production floor to dispatch,
shipping to arrival at the port - our team keeps an
update of each order on the system.
It is just like how you track the status of your
Amazon order.
What is your favourite feature?
Out of all, my favourite is the Knowledge Capsule.
Knowledge Capsule has updated Blogs, Videos,
News and other technical knowledge related stuff
that will help the operators on the spinning mill
floor. They are the real magicians who transform
cotton into yarn. This feature is our little effort to
add value to them and help them improve and
upgrade.
Some examples of content would be how to
assemble the Spinning Can, How to maintain the
parts, How to ensure a longer life for your Caster
Wheels, Difference between Nylon Caster Wheels
and Polycarbonate, Why choose HDPE in Body
Sheets and many more.
What is your next plan now?
The pandemic and lockdown have made us
understand the importance of going digital and
adapting the new technologies. Our true success
will be to ensure all our customers adapt to change
and start using Jumac Smart Cans to the fullest of
its potential.
Our next plans hence will be to implement this
feature across all our existing customers as well as
all new customers and ensure that they start using
the App. It is also to integrate the app with our
Agents globally as they are the last-mile service
provider for the company.
JUMAC is a leading manufacturer & exporter of
HDPE Sliver Cans, supplying to top Spinning Mills
in 25 countries for over 5 decades.

year 1982 under the able guidance
of Shri Shyam Sundar Fogla as a
junior sales assistant and has grown
in the ranks gradually with currently
heading the jute division. He is a
simple familyman who values virtue
over everything else. Being one of the
senior most employees in the
company, his knowledge &
experience has been invaluable to
the company , especially in these
growing times when the company is
chartering newer territories.
A stalwart in his trade , he has led
Jumac from the front who are the

Thirty years ago, I joined Jumac as junior clerical
staff. From this job role, I got promoted as the
Personal Assistant to our erstwhile Director, Sri S
S Fogla. For six years, I had learnt a great deal
about the business under his able guidance. Soon
after, I was bestowed with yet another
responsibility - accomplishing day-to-day
back-office assignments under the supervision of
our Managing Director. I always had the thirst of
learning new things and these opportunities had
shaped me throughout these years. My individual
growth has skied with the success of the company.
Today, I am handling the duties relating to sales
and marketing of Jumac in jute mills.
I am extremely honoured to work with the highly
qualified people and amazed at the skill level of the
personnel from top to bottom in the company. The
culture here is transparent, and every employee,
irrespective of their position, is given a chance of
being heard, and there are ample growth
opportunities available.
There is a true sense of belonging, respect and
involvement at all levels. The culture of care and
commitment, great management team and a
positive environment are the significant factors
that keep me motivated every day.
