TO: John St. Germain
Dear John:
FY'07 was a year of transition for 3Com during which we reinvented ourselves
into a leading $1.38 enterprise networking company. We also managed to enjoy
three consecutive quarters of positive non-GMP operating income.
In more than one way, you personally have contributed to this progress. We do
still have much work to do in FY'08 and beyond, and we welcome your continued
contribution and dedication.
On behalf of 3Com, and me personally, please accept this special cash award in
the amount of 1,000 USD as recognition of your contribution to the success of
the company.
Regards,
Edgar Masri

To Whom It May Concern:
John St. Germain has been an employee of 3Com since August 2006. Throughout that time, John has
been a member of my IT organization under my direction. John started at 3Com in 2006 as our
Telecom Billing Analyst and has proven himself to fill that role with both great competency and
dedication.
In 2007, John volunteered to step in to fill a vacancy in my department that would manage Global IT
software and hardware maintenance contracts and renewals. John was very interested in expanding
his skills in managing vendor relationships beyond the telecom space and we saw this as a great
opportunity for him to do so.
Since 2007, John has served a dual role in my organization - both Telecom Billing Analyst and as
Manager of IT Contract Renewals. John has balanced both workloads through his great focus and
dedication. In both roles, John has done an outstanding job at driving down IT costs and costs to the
3Com business units. He is extremely detailed, organized and manages his own priorities well. He
has been very successful in driving down costs in an economy where prices continue to rise and
aggressively seeks to maintain and improve on the budgetary impact of agreements under his
influence.
John plays a key role in the annual budgeting process for IT and in re-forecasting efforts. In doing so,
he provides annual outlooks for telecom/datacom and for IT contract spending and has worked with
me to build a detailed waterfall report that outlines all the IT contract spend. This has proven to be
an extremely accurate manner to budget from and has helped us keep in line with expectations
financially.
John has always been a great team member and works well with both internal customers, external
vendors and his IT peers. He is a pleasure to work with and always focuses on what is in the best
interest of 3Com. In his handling of contract negotiations and vendor management, John utilizes a
variety of personal and professional quality to achieve positive results and always strikes the right
balance between persistence and professionalism in these matters.
I believe after having worked personally with John for almost four years that he would be a valuable
asset to any organization seeking a team player who is personally driven and motivated, aggressive
with billing and negotiation matters and very dedicated. I have worked with John closely over the
years and he consistently performs and seeks to grow and expand himself professionally.
I confidently offer my recommendation for John St. Germain.
Sincerely,
Wendy Puppolo
