ife is a constant journey with a porpuse. Purpose is born out
of a Vision to be materialized. Materializing a vision entails
struggles and exertions. Putting one heart and mind into an endeavor
means a great challenge. Considering that people tend to do an effort
less than it must be. This thing happens today and hopefully it is just
today and never again in the future.
To a youth, dreams are always somewhere not anywhere they
tend to believe. One must cross a bridge of odds to attain them. But
one thing that matters very much is how they perceive a dream. They
dream, dreams for the sake of dreaming and never try hard enough to
turn them into a reality, this explains the youth’s passivity and
pessimism. Most of the younger people fear to take what it takes to
succeed out of the dread of some stabling blocks along their way. It is
because they lack proper guidance, enlightenment and support to turn
stabling blocks into steppingstones to success. Worse is once they are
clutched by frustrations over a thing they failed to do when they feel it
must be done. They spend their life away for nothing tangible.
Then, the entrance of many social problems which generally
appear more appealing to the teenagers than any older individual, the
lack of discipline, the resentment to elders, the inclination to peer
pressure, the vain search for identity, acceptance & recognition are the
qualities that enslave them which truly are attributes to many social
burdens like juvenile, delinquency, drug addiction, larceny and the
likes. When has the sense of self respect gone? Have our Filipino values
failed to reside in the heart & minds of these youngsters despite the

older people failed to manifest the same prompting the youths to think
and believe that their elders are the living inconsistency? Is there really
a need to educate the olds as much as the young’s?
To the youths of today, especially the entire student of
Valderrama National H.S., I understand that you have the freedom to
be what & who you are but did you ever try to ponder what is really
called for you to do? Will you take the challenge for renewal as we
move on to the next millennium? Will you sacrifice the generation
succeeding you? Will you let the children of tomorrow; your children’s
grand children suffer the confusion you are suffering now when you can
do something to change it! Will you fail over nation when it expects so
much from you? Will you take the challenge of our time… the challenge
for change? The answers lie in your hands. To you all, how so soon is
too late?
“Writing is life”. This is the guiding principle of the mambudanons.
We write about life, struggles and renewal in order to come up with
something that will consequently bring about new life to everybody.
The life of this school organ is a part of life of VNHS which endeavors
not only in installing theories but more importantly in molding students
to discover wonders deep within them in order to radiate to the world
in the wings of service and change as reflective in whatever is in this
letter. Indeed, we give life for writing.
