conducted three sessions on the subjects of
board governance, executive compensation, and
strategic planning at the 48th Annual Conference
of the Association for the Advancement of
International Education (AAIE) in
Boston, Massachusetts.

3.  The AAIE is a dynamic group of educational
leaders that connects “people, ideas, and
resources worldwide.” The organization’s
annual conference took place between
February 6 and February 9, 2014, at the
Westin Copley Place in downtown Boston.

4.  Organized around the idea of building and
sustaining a healthy international school
culture, the conference gave attendees the
opportunity to assess and strengthen school
environments in order to engender practices
that support quality learning. The keynote
speaker at the 48th Annual AAIE Conference
was Dr. Odair Fernandes of Brazil’s University
of São Paulo. His presentation was entitled
“IPM in Brazil: Lessons Learned and Future
Perspectives.”
