2. Beyond his work with the Strategic Engagement
Group, John Guandolo supports the National MS
Society, an organization that advocates on behalf of
people with multiple sclerosis. Thanks to the efforts of
people like John Guandolo, people with this nervous
system disease can receive better medical care and
participate in research efforts to further diminish the
impact of the disease.
Since 1947, the National MS Society has sponsored
research efforts, recruiting hundreds of researchers
and providing career support for those who want to
focus their efforts on this disease.
3. The efforts of these researchers are divided into
three broad categories: stopping the
progression of multiple sclerosis, restoring the
nervous systems of those who have had MS for
a long time, and curing the disease. Through its
research efforts, the society hopes to improve
the lifestyles and overall wellness of those who
deal with MS every day. Research funded
through the organization has led to
breakthroughs regarding lifestyle adjustments
those with MS can make, such as dietary
changes and vitamin D intake.
