PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Head Coach Sam Lopes announced today [June 8] that Sara Vijfhuizen (Bilthoven, The
Netherlands) and Esther Rønn (Copenhagen, Denmark) will join the Providence College women's soccer
team in the fall of 2020.
Vijfhuizen, a center back, will be entering Providence College as a sophomore. Vijfhuizen spent last
season at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (NAIA). Vijfhuizen helped guide her team to a
21-2 record and the NAIA National Championship game. She was named Honorable Mention All-America,
SAC Freshman of the Year and First-Team All-SAC. She played club soccer for SV Saestum. Vijfhuizen will
study marketing at Providence.

2. Rønn also will enter Providence College as a sophomore. The center mid elder attended the University of
Copenhagen last year. She played club soccer for FC Nordsjelland. Rønn will study physics at Providence
College.
