CMPA CONVENTION 2013 IN THIS ISSUE
Scotlynn USA Division, Inc. had a
successful 2013. We shaped the
environment for an even more
successful 2014.
We were ranked, by Gulf Shore
Business, as the 31st largest company
in Southwest Florida.
Our sales increased sixty percent from
2012. We attribute this growth to our
world class customer service that our
team members provide.
To help us better understand our
customers’ needs and trends in the
marketplace, we attended the
Canadian and American Produce
Market Association Conferences.
In conjunction with Scotlynn
Commodities and Scotlynn Sweet Pac
Growers, we had a booth at the
Canadian Produce Market Association
(CPMA) fresh summit trade show in
Toronto, Ontario. We also attended
the Produce Market Association’s
Fresh Summit Conference (PMA) in
New Orleans, LA.
Poised to enter the government
transportation market, we started the
Government Services Division in
August of this year, in order to break
into a $34+ Billion market. Our
Director of Government Services, a
retired Marine Officer developed our
Veteran-Partner Program, which is
designed to build a fleet of service
veteran owner operator-partners and
gain a fair share of the government
transportation market.
2013
To accommodate our growth, We
purchased the 15,000 sqft building
that we were previously leasing.
2014
To expand our geographic footprint
and accommodate the demand for
our services, we are opening a 5,000
sqft state of the art office in
Indianapolis, Indiana this February.

Government Services
by Derek E Watson
Scotlynn hired me as their first
veteran, to direct our Government
Services Department. Now, Scotlynn
better understands the benefits of
working with and for our nation’s
veterans
Scotlynn USA Division, Inc. is taking a
real concern for our veterans. We
have developed a veteran-partner
program, that aims to build a fleet of
veteran owned and operated trucking
companies. In order to capitalize on
the government market and support
our veterans.
Our goal is to secure lanes for our
veteran-partners in each major city in
the Continental United States by
the end of 2014.
As a veteran of conflicts in El
Salvador, Colombia, Iraq and
Afghanistan, I am very aware of
our veteran issues and am in a
position to make a difference.
Honesty- The decisions we
make and the actions we carry
out are governed by a desire to
be honest and upfront with all
of our carriers, clients and
coworkers.

Melanoma Prevention
Tara's Jingle Jog: It was a fund-raiser and 5k that we
participated in that raised money to build canopy's for Lee
County elementary schools to help prevent unprotected
sun exposure which is a major cause of melanoma.
Heart Walk
Race for the cure was an event that we participated in for
the 2nd year in a row that we raised money for and
participated in a 5k walk to support the American Heart
Association.
Teamwork- Leveraging our individual strengths through
teamwork allows us to conquer any task or goal.
Common to all of us here at Scotlynn is a belief that we try
to be the best people that we can possibly be.
For many of us, involvement in the community has proven
to be as rewarding for ourselves as it has been for the
people and organizations that we have supported.
Our leadership philosophy is simple-lead by example. Here
at Scotlynn, we strive to create a learning environment that
allows for continuous process improvement and flexibility
required in a changing and emerging transportation
environment.

Project Homefront
For our 2nd
annual company golf scramble, we
did something new. We supported Project
Homefront and the American legion through
donations and awareness at the golf scramble in
Fort Myers. Supporting veterans after they
served our country is very important to everyone
at Scotlynn.
