Paramount Windows & Conservatories
Self-employed UPVC fascia and conservatory installer including roof and building
maintenance. Manage a small team on site for the removal of fascia’s soffits and guttering,
windows and conservatories along with house repairs.
Ensuring all public areas are cordoned off during activities, Scaffold installation supervision
and correct working practices adhered too.
Working at height regulations followed along with training and supervision to workers, with
correct PPE at all times.
Working with hazardous materials such as asbestos, following strict guidelines for correct
removal and storage of material and supervise personnel to ensure correct procedures are
followed with correct PPE for protection for self and public at all times.
Manage each project including the ordering of all materials and installation team
requirements.
October 1993 to July 1999:
Site Health & Safety Officer/ Foreman (Construction)
Heinz-Van-Aaken (Kaevelaer, Germany)
Started working as construction fitter on a large scale hospital in Hanover, Germany. Duties
included the installation of large shuttering project for reinforced walls and floor
construction, steel fixing, concrete pouring and roof installation.
Quickly moved from installer to Health & Safety officer and foreman to oversee British
construction workers on the 2nd phase of the Hospital, ensuring clear and good working
practices following site regulations and procedures.
Toolbox talks gave on a weekly basis and site induction for new work colleagues. Working
closely with other safety officers and the German site managers, my main goal was to
oversee the work, health, safety and welfare of all British activity on site and to direct,
arrange and install to tight schedules.
Health & Safety officer/ Foreman for Construction of a large cinema complex in Duisburg-
Germany. Again I was the main contact between the British workers as site safety officer
and the Germany site managers and additional safety officers.
All activities were overseen by myself during the steelwork construction, concrete pouring
and setting up, internal brick and block work, suspended RSJ’s and roof coverings. The
internal scaffolding for working at height was also overseen by myself.
