The first book in the IT Architect series helps aspiring and experienced IT
infrastructure architects, infrastructure administrators, and those pursuing
infrastructure design certifications establish a solid foundation in the art of
infrastructure design.
The three authors hold multiple certifications, including the VMware Certified
Design Expert, and they call upon their combined decades of experience in
administration, design, and education in technology to help you plan, design,
deploy, and test a full infrastructure design solution.
Starting with the methodology behind infrastructure design, they explore the
design process through a case study that highlights a company that wants to
support datacenter and desktop solutions using virtualization technologies.
They provide examples of the architecture design, installation, validation, and
operations using VMware vSphere and VMware Horizon View and analyze the
design choices along with alternative options.
Creating a design is critical, but presenting your design for acceptance requires
additional skills to ensure that customers understand your choices, and the
authors walk you through how to do this step by step.
Filled with charts, graphs, and data, this reference will be one you refer to time
and again as you develop a solid foundation in the art of infrastructure design.
John Yani Arrasjid, VCDX-001, is the author of several books on VMware
technologies and the VMware Certified Design Expert program. He is
recognized as a leader in infrastructure design, including virtualization, cloud,
business continuity, and disaster recovery.
Mark Gabryjelski, VCDX-023, has been involved in design and integration of
data center solutions for clients in all markets since 1996. He has worked with
VMware in the enterprise data center since 2002.
Chris McCain, VCDX-079, is the author of several books on VMware
technologies and was among the first to embrace virtualization in the enterprise
data center. He’s a consultant and trainer.
