Documentation Induction

that are in between people, there are nice people,
rolling dice people, people who follow the rules.
So what kind of people are you?
Site Manager
"CONSTRUCTION PAPERWORK IS ESSENTIAL"
• Construction paperwork is the Achilles Heel in
every construction business.
• Its a legal requirement.
• We all have to do it.
• Without paperwork we find low quality output,
missed deadlines, angry customers, and lost
future work.
• In essences the buck stops by you!
What is your key performance areas
• Manage, mentor and provide skilled assistance to builders (subcontractors) in planning
and organizing building projects by interpreting and carrying out their work.
• Interpret building plans, regulations and codes of practice in order to direct the
progress of work and monitor compliance with construction documents.
• Arrange supplies of material and equipment for site timeously.
• Draw up detailed programs for site works and the coordination of building works and
record variations from design drawings and specifications.
• Ensuring that the project schedule is being achieved.
• Resolving any disputes which may arise on site with the staff and subcontractors.
• Evaluate workmanship and quality of the subcontractors on site.
• Prepare site establishment.
• Site manager administration.
• Impose the OHSE legislation.
• Snag list.
• Final handover.
Your daily tasks (First thing in the morning)
• Attendance register
• Check staff PPE
• Discuss the days
work with team
• Complete your paper
work for the morning
• Report any anomaly's
to the SPM
immediately
Your daily tasks (During the day)
• Check site safety all the time
• Evaluate workmanship and
quality
• Walk the site
• Refer to you project plan
confirm the work been done
• Plan the next day activate
• Check the rain meter
• Monitor staff activity
• Do tool box talks one a week
• Check your fist aid box
• Check your fire extinguisher
Your daily tasks (Things to look out for)
• Check your lunch hour
• Cell phone usage during
work
• Keep record of your daily
work been done on site
• Note when the client is on
site, engineer or architect
Your daily tasks (before going home)
• Attendance register
• Site manager administration
• Is your site clean
• Did you do your planning for
the next day
• Did you order your material
• Report any anomaly's to the
SPM immediately
• Don’t cheat on your paper
work
Site Manager
• Your reports and other
paper work must be
submitted to the office
every Monday morning
• You are responsible for
your own reports
• Your reports must be
neat and readable
