10 Guiding Principles for Revision of 1983 Code of Canon Law
1. The 1983 CODE
On Jan. 25, 1959, John XXIII
convoked the Council and
announced the revision of the CIC.
In March 1963 he constituted the
commission charged with this
revision.
The work of the commission really
began in Nov. 1965, a few days
before the closing of the conciliar
sessions.

Guiding Principles for the Revision

organized in 10 points and
presented to the Synod of Bishops
of 1967 for approval:
