Travelzoo, the UK's top travel and entertainment deals provider, has polled its UK subscribers to discover which destinations are top of their wish lists. Starting this year, Travelzoo will conduct the poll annually to monitor the popularity of global destinations and iconic landmarks among its 3.7 million UK subscribers. This year's top bucket-list landmark was the Grand Canyon, followed by Machu Picchu, the Great Wall of China, Sydney’s Opera House and the Taj Mahal. The survey also asked respondents which global destinations they found most inspiring. New Zealand topped the list, followed by the Galapagos Islands, Tahiti (French Polynesia), India, Kenya, Myanmar (Burma), Nepal and Borneo. Closer to home, the short-haul wish list was headed by Italy with 46% of the vote, followed by Spain (31%), Greece (27%), Croatia (19%) and Portugal (18%). For long-haul destinations, the USA (31%) was the winner with Australia in close second place (30%).
