a little more information:
The GitNit Right Foundation is sponsoring the Prom Wear Party as the first fundraiser to supportthe Fairy
Godmother Project this spring in Northern Colorado.
The Fairy Godmother Project “grants the wishes” of disadvantaged young people seeking to fitin by being
smarter, more attractive and more popular thru: tools to enhance learning; school clothes; special occasion attire;
athletic gear and attire; skin care and acne treatment; makeup; hair care; orthodontics; vision correction; weight
managementand fitness programs and selfesteem building options.
Our goal this first year, is to provide formal wear and primping for economically disadvantaged kids in the
Thompson Valley School District. We're starting by collecting recycled formal wear from about 20 different
locations in Northern Colorado. Once collected, it will be dry cleaned and "sold"to area students for a donation of
any size. In addition, girls will have the option ofparticipating in the Primp for Prom Party to have their hair, make
up and nails done on the day of prom, Saturday, May 2. This is such a great“feel good” story we anticipate lots of
media coverage from Northern Colorado as well as the Denver media.
Because this is our first year, we don’tknow how many students may want to participate. We will have
approximately 20 Drop Sites for clothing throughout the Loveland and FortCollins areas. This is where you come
in. We would like two boxes per site, one for dresses and one for shoes and accessories. The boxes will be needed
by March 6, and they will all be returned in excellentcondition atthe end ofthis project. A question that we did have
was if the boxes would be coming assembled or flat? We ask this because we need to figure outthe bestway to
move the boxes to the chosen drop sites.We are also interested in knowing ifyour company would like to pick a
day ofthe week that someone from your business could run the route picking up dresses and moving them to our
collection site atthe outlet mall where they will be sorted and sentto several dry cleaners throughoutthe community
(this will run for approximately four weeks).
We will start collections Monday March 9 and they will run thru the week ofthe Prom Wear Party, Saturday, April
11. There are several media events planned. Because you have chosen to participate, we would like to be sure
you, or someone from your organization, can be atthe big media eventatthe Outlets at Loveland, Saturday, March
14, between 11am and 1pm. At the day's press conference we will be honoring participating businesses.
