J. Lyons Fire Consultants was founded in 2015 by Jim Lyons to provide independent consulting services to assist fire departments with equipment selection. As a consultant not affiliated with any manufacturer, Jim Lyons can impartially assess and select from a broad range of options. He offers extensive experience coordinating apparatus design, advising on budgets, reviewing proposals, and conducting inspections, evaluations, and training programs.

ABOUT JIM LYONS
Jim Lyons is a knowledgeable industry professional with more than 25 years of proven
experience in the fire equipment industry. He has worked with some of the most iconic
companies in the American fire service including: Akron Brass, American LaFrance,
Ladder Towers Inc. (LTI), Sutphen Fire Apparatus, Ferrara Fire Apparatus and SVI
Rescue Trucks.
Jim is also a nationally certified Fire Service Instructor who designs and conducts on-
site training programs and classes on fire ground hydraulics, proper use and operation
of firefighting nozzles and new fire apparatus in service training. He is a member of
Brookhaven Fire Department located in Suffolk County, Long Island, NY.
Jim established and managed Five Star Fire; a broad based fire equipment and
apparatus service dealership located in East Hartford, CT.
