2. Introduction
 Drayton was named by US News & World Report as
one of America's 25 Best Leaders in 2005. He is
responsible for the rise of the phrase "social
entrepreneur“
 founder and current Chair of Ashoka: Innovators for
the Public, a non-profit organization dedicated to
finding and fostering social entrepreneurs
worldwide.
 chairs the Community Greens, Youth Venture and
Get America Working! organizations.

3. HISTORY
 Bill Drayton, founder of Ashoka, an organization
supporting the field of social entrepreneurship
through a social venture capital approach with the
goal of elevating the citizen sector to a competitive
level equal to the business sector. The organization
currently operates in over 70 countries and supports
the work of over 2,000 social entrepreneurs.
 He founded Ashoka in 1980.

4. IMPACT
 Enable Ashoka Youth Venture’s youth participants
experience of starting a social venture.
 Equip them with skills and realise they can make a change.
 The percentage of women working has grown substantially
and the number of women working full-time is growing.
Nearly 60 percent of women who worked at some time in
calendar year 2003 worked full time and year
round, compared with 41 percent in 1970.
 Reduced unemployment of African-American.
 Reduced U.S. Reliance on Payroll Taxes.
