The Spring House in Tallahassee, Florida is a unique architectural landmark designed by famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. It was constructed in 1952 as a home for the Lewis family and now operates as a nonprofit that offers tours. The circular exterior and ship-like structure make it a distinctive sight to see. 2. Spring House
• The spring house is one of Tallahassees greatest architectural
attractions. Designed by the famous architect Frank Lloyd
Wright, and being the one and only of his designs in the state of
Florida, the spring house attracts its fair share of art and
architecture enthusiasts, and also general people just looking to
see a piece of such groundbreaking architectural design live in
person. The unique circular edges, and ship-like structure
making this house a real sight to see.

3. The Spring House is a nonprofit institution, that was constructed in
1952. Prior to being a local attraction toured by the public, the site
originally acted as a home to a small family- The Lewis’. The only
daughter of the Lewis family is incidentally the tour guide you are sure
to meet when checking the place out.

4. Not only is the ship-like design of the exterior view of the spring house unique, but the
interior of the house is just as exotic, containing a living area with a built in fireplace (which
was quite a luxury during the time it was built), a kitchen, and a whole upper level consisting
of a balcony overlooking the living area, bedrooms and bathrooms.

5. Preservation of the spring house
• The Spring house is a true work of art that is actually considered one of Floridas
top 100 buildings by Florida Trust for Historic Preservation group. In great danger
of being taken down, located on the institutions site are different preservation
methods, volunteering oppurtunities, and various ways that the community can
give back and help to save one of Floridas greatest artistic landmarks. Located on
the website, is also the scheduled times and dates for touring oppurutunities,
upcoming events hosted at the house, contact information for the faculty that
runs the house, and a large array of facts, pictures, and interesting information on
the house.
