2. This exercise will help you to discover
qualities that you appreciate about
yourself, especially by acknowledging the
influences in your life that helped you to
develop these good qualities.
If you feel any uneasiness during this
exercise, make some space for whatever is
coming up and let yourself be just as you
are.
Exercise: This Is Me
3. 1. Take 2 or 3 deep breaths and close your
eyes for a few moments to settle and
centre yourself. Put your hands on your
heart as a gesture of support and kindness.
Exercise: This Is Me
4. 2. Now think of 5 things that you appreciate
about yourself and write them down. The
first few things that come up might be a bit
superficial. See if you can open up to what
you really, deep down, like and cherish
about yourself.
Please take your time and be honest.

5. 3. Consider each of these positive qualities one
by one, and offer yourself an inner nod of
appreciation for having these gifts.
Exercise: This Is Me
6. 4. Notice if you feel any discomfort as you
think about your good qualities and make
space for that, allowing your experience to be
just as it is.
Remember that you are not saying that you
always show these good qualities or that you
think you’re better than others. You are simply
acknowledging that this is also true.
Exercise: This Is Me
7. 5. Now consider, are there any people who
helped you to develop your good qualities?
Maybe friends, parents, teachers, even
authors of books that had a positive impact on
you?
Exercise: This Is Me
8. 6. Think about each one of these positive
influences and send each one some gratitude
and appreciation.
