A Survey of Best Practices for Writing and Editing CME Needs Assessments
Access Line Needs Assessment Pamphlet
1. Our intention is to conduct the most effective needs
assessment of Access Line possible within the timeframe of
this semester. We would like to request your valuable
insights as we supplement our study with both community
and Access Line key informants.
Currently, the plan for our needs assessment project is to
collect quantitative and qualitative data from suicide hotlines
around the country to identify methods that other hotlines
use to measure and assess consumer outcomes.
Our ultimate goal would be to present an assessment
recommendation that Access Line could use to measure the
effectiveness of the hotline for years to come.
• Mixed methods study
Quantitative data: National crisis line
survey
Qualitative data: Focus groups with
both PSHTF members and Access
Line staff
• Study length: 1 semester
• Research questions:
- "What are the most effective
assessment tools used by other
crisis hotlines?"
- "How do other crisis hotlines
address privacy concerns and deal
with a vulnerable population while
still measuring consumer
satisfaction?"
• Community input is needed to guide
and add context to our
recommendations
