Engineering Department, U.S. Coast Guard – Coast Guard Station Gloucester, MA 2012-2016
Maintained and repaired: diesel and gasoline engines in various applications, building HVAC, 3
compressed air systems, 1 industrial emergency generators, galley fire suppression system and other
naval & facility equipment. Additional duties: department ordering and tool inventory.
Diagnosed, maintained and repaired various types of power equipment, such as: (2) 4-stroke
Honda outboard gasoline engines; (4) 92V6TA Detroit Diesel engines; various small engines with
lawn equipment and P-6 De-watering pumps; building systems electrical/HVAC.
Proficiently replaced Detroit Diesel engines and other main components on military motor life boat
vessels. Safely operated chain falls for each engine, removed and replaced the exhaust blanket
system, added 5.5gal of oil and 16gal coolant, and conducted the final1 hour sea trial to validate
proper operation.
Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, testing and repairing 4 Coast Guard vessel assets. (2)
47ft Motor Life Boats, (2) 25ft Response Boats, (1) 29ft Response Boat. Organized and assessed
preparations for annual asset inspections and exceeded supervisor’s expectations when
successfully passed every year.
Responsible for ordering and inventory of parts, tools and supplies. Ordered and maintained up to
2,000+ gallons of fuel on station.
Oversaw the preparation for OSHA building inspections resulting in an exceptional score.
