Poverty is defined as a lack of financial resources to meet basic human needs. There are different types of poverty including absolute, relative, situational, generational, rural, and urban poverty based on social, economic, and political factors. Some solutions to poverty by 2030 include increasing equality, building resilience to climate change and conflict, improving access to education, food security, and water as well as embracing cash and microfinance programs.
