  1. 1. CEDAC is an apolitical organization working to help victims/survivors of war in Burundi. (for ten years of its creation, we have already helped almost 25 000 beneficiaries made by widows, ex-combatants,child soldiers,people with disability and other member of community in situation of assistance) CEDAC is a nation-wide network, working at national, provincial and and communal levels
  2. 2. CEDAC works to: Reduce armed violence Assisst victims of war
  3. 3.  High rate of illiteracy among beneficiaries  Weakness of local economy  Lack of enough financial support  The socio-political context remains quite fragile.
  4. 4.  The integration of Burundi in the East African Community (EAC), Economic Community of the Great Lake (CEGLIE), the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) will help to revive the economy through foreign investment in various fields, market expansion and the opening of the country for other opportunities.  The potential development of non-agricultural sector (crafts, tourism, light industry and services)
  5. 5.  Socioeconomic support of ex-combatants and the war affected/victims  Psycho-social assistance/Peer to peer Support and armed violence reduction;  Promote social cohesion and peace in host communities  Women Economic Empowerment and Reintegration
