The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) aims to enable girls and young women to reach their potential as responsible global citizens. It believes in educating both girls and boys for equal partnership. WAGGGS was founded in 1928 and has five world regions. It operates five world centers that offer leadership training and international experiences for girls. The gold trefoil emblem was adopted in 1930 to represent the duties of Guiding and Scouting.
