“Do everything you say or do in the name of the Lord Jesus. Always give
thanks to God the Father through Christ.” Colossians 3:17 (NIRV)
What is your favorite day of the year?
Who is the first person you want to talk to when you’re having a bad day?
What is one way you could love the people in your life better?
What’s your favorite thing about having friends that are believers?
Read Romans 12:10-11, 16(on the back of this sheet.)
How can you honor someone above yourself (v. 10)? By being concerned with their needs more than
your own.
What does “spiritual fervor” mean (v. 11)? The joyful energy you have as you serve the Lord.
Why is it important to have “spiritual fervor” when serving God (v. 11)? Because God cares more
about your heart, or motivation, behind the things you do.
Why does God want us to be, “willing to associate with people of low position” (v. 16)? It helps remind
us that having more or less material possessions doesn’t make us any different from one another. We
all struggle with sin and are equal because of it. It is also an indirect reminder of the frequent
command in the Bible to take care of the poor in your community.
Mission as Worship: Love Others
September 17, 2016
Big Idea Acts 2 gives us a good idea of what loving the people in our life should look like,
and what it will look like when God restores the earth.
Get Down Pray that God would give you opportunities to worship and serve Him by finding
ways to love others well.
2. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be
lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with
people of low position. Do not be conceited.
Romans 12:10-11,16 (NIV)
