Jennifer Cortright is a senior at California Baptist University studying Liberal Studies. She plans to graduate in December and pursue a multi-subject teaching credential to teach at the elementary school level. She has over eight years of experience as a one-on-one aide in a classroom working with autistic children. I am currently a senior at California Baptist University in Riverside Ca. My major is Liberal Studies and I plan on graduating
in December. I will then pursue my multi-subject credential and plan to purse a job at an elementary school. I have a
wonderful love for teaching children and for seeing the spark in their eye when they learn. I have over eight years experience
as well as a one on one aide in a classroom.

My job title was one on one aide for Autistic children that are being mainstreamed into a typical classroom. My duties were
to help the student with the daily tasks in the classroom, to go off the IEP that modifyed the classroom structure to help him
or her with the classwork, to assist the student to any special programs such as OT, and speech therapy, to help the student
learn to grow and help with social skills as well as with motor development. I was also in charge of making sure the students
binder was kept up to date with growth and also for the IEP and for parents that would request daily updates about behavior
and classroom work.
