late October through mid-
March is quite pleasant,
with high temperatures
ranging from around 27 °C

Holy Month of
Ramadan
What is Ramadan?
• Ramadan is the ninth
month of the Islamic
calendar. It is a time of
fasting for the Muslim
people. Each day during
this month, Muslims all
over the world abstain
from eating, drinking,
smoking, as well as
participating in anything
that is ill-natured or
excessive; from dawn
until the sunset.
Holy
Month of
Ramadan
Why do Muslims fast during Ramadan?
Fasting is intended to educate the Muslim in
spirituality, humility and patience. It is a time to
cleanse the soul, focus attention on God, and put
into practice selflessness.
Ramadan is a time for Muslims to fast for the sake
of God and to put forward more prayer than is
customary
They start their fast with a special meal called
“Sohour” at sun rise and they break their fast at
sun set with a special meal known as “Iftar” .
Ramadan every year falls in different months as it
is based on the Lunar Calendar.
Holy
Month of
Ramadan
How to behave in Ramadan?
Do not eat or drink or smoke in public or in the
presence of Muslim classmates during fasting
times.
Ladies are requested to wear modest dressing,
please avoid tight and revealing dresses.
Avoid loud music and other entertainments
which can disturb your neighbors in your
apartments.
Avoid strong perfumes and deodorants.
We request all of you to cooperate with your
classmates and make it a memorable occasion
for them.
