first years at Rutgers University
and to encourage them to share
a concern on the do something
button if the time arises.
Survey 150 students and
50 department
representatives to assess
need and knowledge of
Do Something at New
Student Orientation.
Take pictures of students
holding the button sign
and posting it on the
H.O.P.E. facebook page.
Purpose
Significance
•Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of
death in college students ages 20-
24
•Over 67% of young people do not
talk about or seek help for mental
health problems
•90% of people that seek the
necessary form of mental health
treatment can function the way
they used to.
