FAMILY OWN & OPERATED
HARVIE MORRIS PTY LTD General Engineering Makers of TRULINE Premium / Century
Plastering and Cementing tools
Since 1947 Harvie Morris Pty Ltd - an Australian family business - have produced and sold many thousands of plastering
and cementing tools in Australia and overseas and although a steel float is essentially a hand finished tool, volume
production has enable many unique process to be used, resulting in a product which is equal to the world’s best in every
way.
History
Throughout the years Harvie Morris Pty Ltd has prided itself in the knowledge of the manufacturing of tools for the
cement and plastering industry.
Plasters Trowels were first produce in Australia in 1947 when sufficient supplies were not available from overseas, Raw
material was a serious problem at that time and Harvie Morris Pty Ltd set about making the fullest investigations into all
sources of supply. Samples of trowel steel from all over the world were tested and used under actual working conditions
by Australian tradesmen, and eventually a top grade Sheffield steel was ordered to Harvie Morris own specifications.
The increased performance of lightweight high tensile alloys that are suitable for Trowel shanks, and together with the
treatment and machining produces a Truline Trowel shank of truly remarkable strength and rigidity.
During this period Harvie Morris Pty Ltd gained knowledge in the areas of General Engineering, Machining, Blacksmith
and Metal Fabrication and Welding processes to produce various components to complete products.
.
At Harvie Morris Pty Ltd we aim to offer professional service and quality products to our customers. We will strive to
consistently exceed client requirements by: maintaining a high standard of workmanship, using high quality materials

3. Cement and Plasters Products
All Truline premium trowel blades (except stainless) are manufactured from a superior grade manganese alloy steel
formulated for high tensile strength, flexibility and long life. The finished steel is cold rolled and tempered to a hardness
of 500-550 VPN and manufactured to tight tolerances to ensure shape stability over the life of the trowel.
PREMIUM TROWELS
The shanks are manufactured from magnesium enhanced aluminum alloy to a tensile of 10 tons to the square inch
which makes them extremely resistant to bending and distortion.
The trowels are assembled with Zinc Plated Rivets to ensure a permanent bond without damage to the blade material.
The handles are manufactured from a UV stabilized polypropylene main body, and a soft grip plasticized rubber. With
the co-operation of “on the job” tradesmen a complex three dimensional shape has been developed for control and
agronomical comfort. Through bolting is also provided with a steel/brass combination to ensure tightening can be carried
out if desired any time in the future.
The Century trowels blades are of the same quality as The Premium trowels except the hardness is in the range of 460
-500 vpn.
CENTURY TROWELS
The shanks have the same specifications as the Premium range and the trowel is also assembled with Zinc Plated
rivets.
The handles are moulded from UV stabilized polypropylene with a proven ergonomically developed shape which is fine
etched to improve grip in the wet conditions. Through bolting is also provided with a steel/brass combination to ensure
tightening can be carried out if desired any time in the future.
Harvie Morris manufacture stainless steel trowels in both the Truline Premium and Truline Century ranges. The blades
are made from a 400 series stainless steel strip rolled to tight tolerances and having hardness in the range
450-490 VPN. This strip has been recently developed to provide extra flexibility with a reduced blade thickness of
0.61mm (23 gauges). All other features are the same as for the Premium and Century trowels except that type 302
Stainless Steel Rivets are used for blade fixing.
STAINLESS STEEL TROWELS
Truline Trowel Blades are coded relative to the blade thickness as per list
TROWEL BLADE DESIGNATIONS
HEAVY DUTY 21 swg 0.032 0.81
BLADE GAUGE INCH MM
LIGHTWEIGHT 22 swg 0.028 0.71
SPECIAL FLEX STAINLESS 23 swg 0.024 0.61
EXTRA LIGHTWEIGHT 24 swg 0.022 0.56
All Trowels are inspected for trueness and quality dip coated for rust protection and package completely for shipment
protection.
FINISHED TROWEL
Harvie Morris Pty Ltd unconditionally guarantee their Truline trowels against defects in either material or workmanship.
All Truline Cement /Plasters Small Hand Tools blades are made from a hardened and tempered Alloy Steel, High
Carbon Steel, or grade 316 Stainless Steel. The shanks are of High Carbon Steel forged to suit the blade and securely
bonded by Silver Solder or Tig Welding and are fitted with contoured wood handle.
TRULINE CEMENT/PLASTERERS SMALL HAND TOOL SELECTION
These Blades therefore are far better quality, more accurate in design and longer wearing than other tools made for the
tradesmen who quickly realize their many advantages.
At Harvie Morris we manufacture our small hand tool products to standard sizes but offer tools in various sizes upon
request when the job requires that different length, radius or profile. We also offer a variety of tools that can assist the
tradesman in preparation of their work from stirs for mixing or scrapers for site cleaning. For over 60years Harvie Morris
has been manufacturing, altering and design tools for the tradesman to assist them in their projects and various
applications.
