Letter of Recommendation for Janell Just
To Whom It May Concern,
This letter of recommendation is for Janell Just, who was an unpaid Intern at the River Music
Experience (RME) in the summer of 2013. Being Janell’s hiring manager and direct supervisor, I
can report with great confidence that Janell was the best Intern I’ve ever had under my direction
at the RME. Janell’s skill set coupled with her friendly personality made her a pleasure to work
with, and I highly recommend that she be given consideration for any opportunity she is applying
for.
The RME is a small non-profit organization that fosters music education programs and live
music performances for our community and visitors. During her interview I learned that Janell
was a former student in our Rock Camp program and a seasoned musician and vocalist. Janell
was hired as our Production and Development Intern, with primary duties to assist myself with
artist contracts, production details for concerts, and aide in any programming assistance and
Membership development as needed. Before too long she was working with every Director in
every department with willingness and ease.
Janell is a very fast learner and picked up projects and directions quickly. She has a great
balance of taking initiative and using her common sense in her work while still asking questions
as needed. She is resourceful, full of ideas, and quick to lend a hand with any project or
department, and did it with a smile. She was even handy with a hammer and screwdriver, fixing
materials we needed for events and making suggestions on how to improve things.
Her biggest project of the summer was to create graphs that compared three years of data in
regards to concert attendance trends, show revenues, and other concert analytics, which she
compiled and completed fastest than I could have imagined, and went above and beyond what I
asked of her. Working with sensitive information on a daily basis, I am was confident to give
her projects that required a cautious eye and know that she will continue to keep information
confidential even long after she has worked here.
Janell is trustworthy, reliable, hard-working, talented, and smart, and any organization would be
lucky to have her as a part of their team. If you have further questions for me regarding her
