3. Internet
• The Internet, sometimes called simply “The Net," is a worldwide
system of computer networks - a network of networks in which
users at any one computer can, if they have permission, get
information from any other computer (and sometimes talk directly
to users at other computers).

• A network is a collection of computers, servers, mainframes,
network devices, peripherals, or other devices connected to one
another to allow the sharing of data. An excellent example of a
network is The Internet, which connects millions of people all over
the world. Below is an example image of a home network with
multiple computers and other network devices all connected to
each other and the Internet.
5. History of Internet
• The Internet first came about in February 1958 in America.
• A man named J.C.R. Licklide saw universal networking as a potential unifying
revolution.
• Leonard Kleinrock at MIT published the first paper on packets switching theory
in July 1961 and the first book on the subject in 1964.
• The Internet began to grow rapidly in the 1970’s as the knowledge of the
networking was growing more and more rapidly.

freenet came on line in Cleveland in the U.S.
• Between 1987 and 1988 the number of hosts increased from 10k to 60k

1) There is a lot of wrong information on the internet. Anyone can post
anything, and much of it is garbage.
2) Easy to waste a lot of time on the internet
3) Internet has a lot of "cheater" sites and Hackers can create viruses that can
get into your personal computer and ruin valuable data
4) Using too much of internet increase health related issues
