Jacob T. Helsley received a B.S. in Geology with a concentration in Environmental Engineering from James Madison University in 2014, where he maintained a 3.7 GPA in major courses and 3.3 overall. He completed required courses in mineralogy, petrology, stratigraphy, and geochemistry. Helsley received honors and awards including the Jeffrey E. Tickle '90 Family Endowment in Science and Mathematics. For his undergraduate research, Helsley conducted a 10-week summer REU project on ultrahigh temperatures recorded in lower crustal xenoliths from the Shenandoah Valley, VA. He has presented his research at James Madison University and the Geological Society of America Annual Meeting.
