This document outlines an introductory environmental engineering and science course offered at the University of Notre Dame. The course objectives are to introduce students to current environmental issues, analyzing environmental data, and approaches to solving environmental problems. Topics covered include mass and energy transfer, environmental chemistry, modeling, statistics, risk assessment, and pollution of water, soil, and air. Students will complete a field project examining the environmental challenges of a local lake. The course will be graded based on exams, homework, and lab assignments.
