This document provides an overview of Buddhism's origins and spread in East Asia during the Three Kingdoms period of China, as well as early folk religions, mythology and political developments in Korea and Japan. It covers the life of the Buddha, the establishment of the three major Buddhist schools, and how Buddhism was adapted in China. It also discusses the creation myths, animism, shamanism and early kingdoms in Korea, as well as the creation myths, emergence of Shinto and early imperial periods in Japan from the Kofun to Asuka eras.
