1 p.m. Film O. Winston Link: Trains that Passed in the
Night
O. Winston Link spent the 1950s photographing and
recording audio of America’s trains running on the Nor-
folk and Western line in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains.
In his spare time, without pay, Link captured not only
amazing images of the behemoth machines, but also
the lifestyles of the era’s people who lived near the rails.
This film is loaded with Link’s gorgeous photographs and
loving commentary as he demonstrates his techniques.
